We love to spoil dogs.
Pet care experience
Our dog is very spoiled. He comes on vacation with us, goes to dog parks and dog beaches, goes boating with us and eats well. He gets the run of the house and there is a spot on the couch that is his. He loves other dogs and although he is 11 years old has the energy of a 6 year old and likes to play. We have dogsat for As Good as Gold ( a charity that rescues Golden Retrievers) for many years. We have also dogsat for family and friends. We have a large fenced in yard with part artificial turf and part grass. We have been told by Rover clients that we have more grass that most other sitters. We have flexible schedules and one of us is home most of the day. I have given medicine to many dogs over the years. I know some can be difficult but I always get them to take it. Your dog would need to be friendly, socialized and get along with our Golden Retriever named Sammy. We also require that the dog is housebroken and doesn't chew furniture. We also have a limousine service and can help you with your transportation to and from the airport.

Took good care of my pup and kept me informed
Very good service and communication.
Overall, they provided excellent care for Clifford and developed a wonderful rapport with my pup.
First time using Rover. It was a smooth process. Sonia and Greg are a very nice personable couple. The photos and updates throughout Clover and Riley’s stay were great! Our pups had a little trouble with wanting to eat their food in the beginning, but Sonia took great care working magic with some treats and bowl toppers. Our pups became fearful with the New Years Eve fireworks, but were comforted by Sonia. Thanks so much for caring for Clover and Riley. They must’ve wore themselves out with a lots of playtime. They’ve been napping since we’ve been home.😊

We have a large fenced in yard. We can crate a dog overnight if that is what your dog is use to or if we have problems with them going potty in the house. Young dogs especially from about 8-9 months to about a year and a half need to be crated when left alone because they are teething and can get very destructive.

It is always best to have our dogs meet before agreeing to sit. Our dog is very friendly but he likes to check out how a dog will play with him very quickly. He will test if he is a wrestler and if he will let him hump him, or maybe your dog likes to play chase or tug. Also if your dog has met us and seen our house he is more comfortable when you leave him the next time. Your dog should be up to date on his shots, heartworm pills and flea/tick medicine. We do have stairs going up and down, so dogs need to be able to do stairs. Our fence is a standard chain link fence so your dog should not be able to jump it. Your dog should be trained to potty outside.
A typical day
Greg is wonderful and finding different games to play with the dogs from fetch, tug, hide and seek, and doggie wrestling. In hot weather we do have a kiddie pool we put up for the dogs to wet their paws and play in. We have a nice fully fenced in off-leash dog park in West Chicago and I do take them there when I have time and I think the dog I'm watching will like it. My husband loves to be outside and the dogs got out with him. I am very generous about letting them out whenever the want it, even it was just 10 minutes ago I let them out. Our dog Sammy helps us entertain the dogs by playing with them. He likes doggie wrestling, tug, and chase.

I mostly feed the dogs twice a day, First when I get up usually around 9am and second between 5pm-6pm. My husband likes to be outside and is out with the dogs most of the day in the backyard.
