Pet care experience
Hello! My name is Greer. I have lived in Santa Cruz almost all my life. I truly love this little slice of the world and all the people (and furry friends) who make it great. I’ve been caring for and living with animals all my life, but I’ve always had a particular connection with dogs. I am familiar and comfortable with all sizes of dogs (and cats) of most temperaments. I always bring water on my walks for myself and for the dog. My family’s dog (who passed away last year) was leash reactive, so I am familiar and experienced in dealing with dogs with such issues. I also have experience caring for dogs with mobility issues. I enjoy walking as exercise and would love to take your pet for lovely long walks in the nearby parks, on the beach, or just around the neighborhood! I enjoy teaching dogs new tricks and helping to reinforce positive behaviors. I love all dogs and treat them with all the love and respect as if they were my own. I have over 10 years of experience with cats, including a cat of my own. I bond with them just as well as I do with dogs! Being trusted by a cat is a great feeling and I take pride in my relationship with all animals (especially cats). I also have some experience with caring for other pets such as reptiles and fish, mostly for a bearded dragon. However I am highly adaptable and a fast learner if I encounter something new. I can’t wait to meet you and your furry (or scaly or feathered) friend!

Greer was absolutely incredible with our anxious, difficult dog! She took the time out of her busy schedule to do multiple meet and greets with us, and was so gracious about our dog’s behavioral quirks. When we came home, Winnie was happy to see us but took very little time to adjust back to “normal” - which is always a great sign that she has felt comfortable and safe!
Greer did a great job entertaining our Rusty. Highly recommended!

I firmly believe in leaving a space better than you found it, to the highest degree possible. I understand that each animal is unique and so the care they require can be just as unique. I am more than happy to try and accommodate any special requests you have in regards to the care of your pet. Whether it be special feeding instructions, practicing tricks or obedience, or just extra love and attention. It’s my pleasure to do everything I can to provide you and your pet with the best experience possible.

For drop-ins and house sitting, I ask that you provide any instructions and essential information in writing by the start of the booking, either on paper or via text. Such as feeding times and instruction, additional care instruction (litter box, pee pads, etc), medications, physical limitations, instructions or notes for the house, and anything else you may like me to know about your particular pet. I do take notes on instructions during meet and greets but a written list will help me to ensure I am providing the best possible care for your pet(s). I have no overall preference for breed or size, although I have a special place in my heart for pit bulls and big dogs. Please inform me ahead of time if your pet has any particular social issues or aggressive tendencies with people, children, or other pets.
A typical day
No matter what the activity, I just adore the company of dogs. It’s simply an incredible bonus that I can have wonderful experiences with them. I love to take walks in nearby Nisene Marks and other local forests, as well as on the beach and by the ocean. The only thing that makes the experience of these wonderful places better, is wonderful company and I would love to bring your pet into nature.

Availability
I am currently working full time so my availability is primarily - mornings and evenings on weekdays And - all day on weekends However, I can organize midday walks or visits on a case by case basis if provided with proper notice and communication. I am available for house sitting on Fridays, however, on those days I am not able to spend all day at the house due to my work hours.
