Certified trainer

Pet care experience

Hello! My name is Grant. On top of my many years of personal experience caring for pets, I have several years of professional experience caring for animals in a shelter setting as an animal care attendant, dog trainer, behavior coordinator, and veterinary technician. My work has included grooming, walking, cleaning, feeding, training, providing enrichment, and medicating animals. I am a certified dog trainer (CPDT-KA). Most of my professional training experience has been with younger dogs and puppies, but I have trained adult dogs as well. I am particularly interested in working with dogs who are reactive and fearful. I also really enjoy doing trick and agility training; my own dog has earned three trick dog titles from Do More With Your Dog! (I also train cats, they can learn tricks too!) I have cared for and handled dogs of all ages and sizes, from a few days old to 20 years old, 3 pounds to 120+ pounds. I love senior dogs! I have worked with dogs that are rowdy, strong, reactive, stubborn, and/or fearful. I have experience working with dogs and cats who have special medical needs or need medication delivery. I am privately insured in addition to being backed by the Rover guarantee.

Grant took great care of my cats, one of whom requires insulin injections, via drop-in visits. I appreciated that he kept me informed on the other cat’s eating habits, and I liked the report cards and pictures. I had been worried that the diabetic cat would be difficult, but Grant was able to befriend him and give him the injections. I will definitely be booking with Grant again.

I strive to keep your pet's routine as close to normal as possible. I am experienced with approaching new animals and putting them at ease in my presence. Pets in my home are treated like family. I have a large fenced yard and private rooms to keep animals separate for down time if necessary. I typically require client’s dogs to have a successful meeting with my dog before boarding or daycare.
