My name is Grant and I'm a rising Senior at Cornell in the Animal Science program with a pre-veterinarian concentration. Ever since I was born I was surrounded by dogs--currently keeping up with two mini-Aussies and a border collie. I am a part of Guiding Eyes for the Blind where I help train puppies to become seeing eye dogs, adding to my technique for taking quality care of newly encountered canines. While home for the summer on Long Island and in New York City, I am doing an externship at the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan for the second summer in a row. This summer I am applying to veterinary school. In addition to this primary animal care exposure, I have shadowed at large veterinary practices in Rockville Centre, Plainview, and Huntington. As for the weekends or after 5pm during the week are great times for Long Island pets. Around late afternoon would be ideal for Manhattan pets. For people in the Ithaca area, after 5:30pm during the weekdays is best for availability due to my classes. While learning from and working with the best of the best in the animal field, I strive to give all pets I encounter the best of the best as well.
