I have owned German Shepherds since I received my first on my fifth birthday. Enjoyed training and working on therapy dog (TDI) certification with Blu (past GSD) but did not certify due to graduate school challenges. My new puppy, Gus and I are working on getting his certification. I have been unofficially watching dogs of friends and family for several years now and feel comfortable with most any dog. I am a professor at Elon in Psych & Neuro (developmental cognitive neuroscience). I have training in animal sciences and anatomy needed for my research which makes me comfortable understanding and problem solving animal behavior and interactions. If house sitting or making drop ins for walks I am available throughout the day most weeks if scheduled enough in advance. Gus does need to come with me for home stays. He also never turns down a play date during a drop-in visit or walk appointment if appropriate!
