Pet care experience
I have grown up with dogs since I was 4 years and old and began taking care of them on my own at 13. Before college, I worked as a dog-lifeguard at Happy Tails in Norfolk, Virginia so I have rare experience with Canine CPR. I am a natural-born animal lover working in environmental sustainability and conservation. I am fully able to take dogs on long walks or runs and love to run with dogs in car-free areas in the city (if they're able) where they get lots of exercise and attention from more than just myself! I have experience doing rover from my college years in Charlottesville, VA, and am restarting my profile after moving to the city. I do my best to keep my profile as up to date as possible, and if you have any questions feel free to shoot me a message or request and I'll be happy to give a quick response and availability update!

Grant was amazing in getting us out of a huge bind when our prior sitter had to cancel last minute. He responded quickly to our request and was very flexible. We were pleased that, as a college student, he had a significant amount of time, and friends around, to give our whippet, Gilda attention. She had the full college experience and came back to us happy and with her tail wagging. No piercings, no tattoos, no UVA mascot apparel, but I think she found hanging out with college aged humans educational.
Our dog had a BLAST with Grant! He sent us photos throughout the stay and did some of our dog's favorite things with him - long walks, hiking, swimming, and cuddle time on the couch. I don't know if we'll be in Charlottesville anytime soon, but we'd ask Grant to watch Auggie again in a heartbeat!

I have no preferences whatsoever! I am very comfortable with all kinds, sizes, and breeds of dogs, but warnings of aggressive behavior are absolutely necessary.
A typical day
We will walk and run the east or west side highway, or if your dog prefers a more natural setting or has older joints we can enjoy a calm walk in any of the parks closest to you. I love to bring the dogs I walk to coffee shops where plenty of people give them attention and they get a break if on a longer walk. If I am coming to your home, I will be happy to do all of your dogs favorite things and more with them!
