I'll care for your pet like my own

Pet care experience

I'm a PhD student at Penn State and a proud dog mom. I have been dog-sitting and dog walking for over 10 years, in my own home and at my clients homes. I foster dogs for the local animal shelter and have learned essential knowledge about dog behavior and training while preparing adoptable dogs for success in forever homes. My full attention is on your pet while dog walking, reading their body language and engaging in the activity with them. My own dog accompanies me on walks and runs around the neighborhood, as well as on hikes and camping trips throughout Pennsylvania. I'm happy to walk, run, or hike with your dog as well and give them individual attention. I love all breeds and sizes, and understand that each dog is unique and requires unique care. As a graduate student, I mostly work out of my home, so your dog won't be left alone for long periods of time. I know how nerve-wracking it can be to trust someone else with your pet, as I worry about my own dog when I am away no matter how great her care. My goal is to provide dependable, friendly service with updates and communication to put your mind at ease.

It would be hard to find a more caring, observant, and reliable pet-sitter than Grace! She has stayed at our house and taken care of our big dog, Ripley, during our long vacations. She is always attentive to Ripley, alerts us quickly if there’s ever a question or concern, and gets Ripley lots of exercise. We’ve also kept up to date on the dogs she fostered while in grad school. We have always been impressed that she not only gives them a loving home while they wait for permanent homes but she also spends lots of extra time training them (including a few with special needs) and helping them be more comfortable around her dog to increase their chance at finding new homes.

Anyone would be lucky to have Grace as a dog sitter! She is caring and compassionate to everyone she meets-- both people and furry friends! Grace has taken care of my dog, Rico, who is a special guy! Grace is attentive to his sensitive diet, accommodates his goofy walking habits, and has cleaned his occasional accident. Grace is also a great dog mom to her own pup, and has changed the lives of every foster dog that has been lucky enough to get placed with her. In addition to love, affection, and treats that make every dog feel special, Grace is also very organized and detail oriented, so each pup's individual needs are met. You want Grace to care for your dog!

Where to start? Grace is above and beyond the most reliable person I would trust with my home and with my pets. We have a 12 year old shih tzu that requires a lot of medication and patience. We simply showed Grace the house and the list of things to do, and we never worried at all that she would take excellent care of him. She's also very responsive and communicative, and was happy to accommodate our requests, within reason of course. She also just loves dogs! I've seen her foster dogs from PAWS and worked wonders. She is awesome at training (great at leash training especially) while giving lots of care and attention. I can't say enough awesome things about Grace! I'd recommend her to anyone.

Grace was a wonderful dog-sitter for my beagle, Midge. She house/dog sat numerous times for me when I lived in State College. I also know Grace well through my work with her as a faculty member at Penn State. Grace is conscientious, responsible, and incredibly friendly. I always felt comfortable leaving Midge and my home in Grace's hands. She was great about sending updates and pictures while I was away. You could not ask for a better sitter!

Information Grace W. would like to know about your pet

Before walking or caring for your pet, I'd like to know about their reactions to other dogs and humans, as well as any behavioral challenges they may have. Are they an escape artist? Not a fan of other dogs? Not great with children? I'm happy to accommodate all of these, but need to know about them up front so that I can be prepared.

A typical day

We love to get outside and explore, and will find outdoor adventures to meet your dogs' ability and energy level. Whether it's a long trail hike, or a short walk in the park, we love to get a change of scenery and explore! We love to engage in play and training/enrichment. And of course, lots of cuddles and pets so your dog feels love and attention while with us.
