Pet care experience
I've been around animals my whole life. I grew up with cats, and we got a dog when I was 7 who I trained to balance treats on her nose and only catch them when I gave her the go-ahead. I have taken care of neighbors', friends', and family's pets, including staying with them, walking them, feeding them, and training them. I love both cats and dogs (and would love to meet a fur baby of a different sort if that is your need!), and dogs tend to take an immediate liking to me. I have experience with difficult dogs and dogs who don't get along with other animals.

I am respectful of others' space and have watched dogs for many friends and coworkers while staying in their house. I would be happy to adjust the degree of exposure I have in your home while coming to walk, feed, or watch your dog according to your degree of comfort and safety. I am vaccinated and boosted for COVID-19, but I would still be happy to mask in any shared space or adhere to whatever safety considerations you need.

Let me know if there are any special needs your dog (or cat!) has. I have experience with dogs and cats who don't gel well with other animals, and I would be happy to watch or walk your dog even if other dogs make them nervous. I have also watched several dogs and cats who needed a daily oral medication, which I was happy to administer. The most important thing is for us to communicate about your pet's needs to me so that I can make sure I am taking the best care of them I can! Do they need a firm leash when they are walked or should I let them sniff other dogs we pass? Do they have the energy for a run or will their knees get tired? Can I reward them with a treat or are they not motivated by food? I will do my best to accommodate you and your dog's needs.
A typical day
As a frequent runner, I love exploring the trails around Ithaca. If your dog is up for it, I can happily take them running with me! My runs are all the more fun when I have an energetic dog motivating me!

I have a day job from 9-5, meaning my availability falls in the mornings, evenings, and weekends. Within these constraints, I will do whatever I can to cater to your pets' needs!
