Experienced Pet Caregiver

Pet care experience

I grew up with dogs and cats, and have been dog-sitting regularly for the past 14 years. I have experience with dogs and cats from all walks of life, including puppies/kittens, seniors, rescues, those needing medications, and those with problematic behaviors. In addition, I have worked at a vet clinic’s kennel, which provided me with the ability to care for dogs while learning more about their health. I know how to handle "difficult" dogs, large groups of dogs, how to distribute medicine orally or via injection, and I am well-versed on signs of emergency distress. Distress of any kind, period, will be described to the owner in detail as we follow the pre-determined, owner-lead pet health plan. I have competed in AKC conformation, volunteered at the animal shelter pre-Covid times, and have rescued/fostered cats and dogs. I am comfortable caring for horses, reptiles, birds, amphibians, and farm animals (goats etc).

Grace always takes such good care of our pups and treats them as if they were her own. We are so thankful for her!

Grace was the absolute best. We haven’t used a sitter in years because our dog is older with several health issues/requirements (diabetes, arthritis, etc.). She immediately understood all the health problems and cared for him perfectly. She gave various oral meds and insulin injections. She gave frequent and valuable updates. Thanks to Grace, we had a completely stress-free wedding trip. I highly, highly recommend her to everyone.

Safety, trust & environment

My baseline treatment of all living creatures is to be compassionate, caring, and to do no harm. This mindset of respect for others is not limited to a specific environment, but generalizes across settings. This means that my treatment of your pets will never be circumstantial or biased, but respectful and individualized according to your wishes. I’m here to be your eyes and ears while caring for your pets.

Information Grace C. would like to know about your pet

The standard includes: knowing the pet’s health and vaccination history, the three preferred veterinarians (I am happy to suggest references), common behavior of pet, any known indicators or “tells” that a specific pet may be sick (apart from the normal indicators), feeding, toilet, sleeping, and play schedules and routines.

A typical day

I enjoy watching pets thrive in their most highly preferred environments, whatever those may be: fetch, walks, swimming at the lake, cuddling under a blanket, and more! Everything, including even teaching simple tricks, will be with the owner’s prior knowledge and consent.
