Dog-Whisper/Lover/Connoiseur

Pet care experience

I have loved and taken care of dogs (and horses) since I was a little kid. I currently have two four-legged family members, a black goldendoodle named Kevin (you'd understand the name if you met him) and a Great Pyrenees mix named Lilli. I have two fur babies that are no longer with us, but still thought about everyday. I’m 26 years-old and have been working in the equine care/management industry with professional equestrians. I have a Biology degree from the University of Rhode Island and plan to earn a higher degree related to equine rehabilitation. Unfortunately, I was injured and had to get spinal surgery in December 2022. I’m currently living with my parents in NK and am looking for part-time work as I recover. I have some physical restrictions, but I’m able to care for small animals and large dogs that don’t pull on a leash. Anyone who knows me knows that my animals are my first priority. I’ve been house/dog/cat/horse-sitting for 10+ years and love to love on other people’s animals.

Grace is a true dog lover. My fur keep kids liked her immediately! I would recommend her to take care of your pup. Excellent sitter.

Grace stayed at our home for the weekend with our dog and two cats. She was absolutely great and kept us updated with texts and pictures so that we knew they were in good hands. We will absolutely have her stay again for future needs!

Safety, trust & environment

I understand how distressing it can be for animals to have their owners leave. My main goal is to replicate their normal daily routines to make the transition easier. I have years of experience caring for senior and rescue dogs who can be fearful and/or territorial around strangers. I’m very patient and like to let pets get to know me on their own time. I prioritize creating a level of trust between pets, their parents, and myself. I’m a direct communicator and if something happens to the home, the animal, etc., I will notify owners immediately. Admittedly, I have difficulty leaving my own pets in the hands of someone else. I care for other individuals’ pets the same way I care for my own.

Information Grace C. would like to know about your pet

My main physical limitation is the inability to lift heavy objects. I can care for small animals and large dogs that never pull on a leash, or don’t require walking.

A typical day

When I’m pet-sitting, I want to replicate the pet(s)’s typical daily routine as much as possible. I find that animals are calmer and more comfortable, especially around strangers, when they have consistency. As mentioned, I do have certain physical limitations. For example, I couldn’t play tug of war with a 40lb dog.
