Pet care experience
I am a college student at William & Mary who will be in Williamsburg from May through the end of July taking classes part-time. I am able to be home most of the day except for the short block of time which I will be in class. At my home away from school, I have a 13-year-old Australian Shepherd and a cat. I grew up caring for pets and am truly missing animal companionship at school. I live in a townhome with easy access to many parks and trails in the New Town Williamsburg area, and can provide transportation to myself and your pet within a 10-mile radius. As a student-athlete, I am very active and love to walk, hike, and run, so I can especially care for pups with high energy requirements. I will also send picture and updates however often you would like.

Wish I could leave zero stars!! I hired Grace this weekend to care for my animals. I was very disappointed in the service that she gave me. She did not show up for one visit and the following morning she never showed up until after 10:30 to let my dog out. She made no effort to contact me so that I could possibly find someone else to go and care for them. When I returned home I found feces on my floor along with dirty water. My cats litter boxes were so full that it looked like they hadn’t been cleaned since I had left town. Yet, she said that she had cleaned them on each visit. When you have animals you know how much they go to the bathroom. She did a terrible job!! She should not be caring for anyone’s animals!!! I am asking that Rover remove her from their site.
She was great and my dog was so happy
Grace was great with our dog Louie! She was very attentive, kind, and loving to him and sent us lots of pictures throughout his stay. She has lots of space for him to roam around and explore, including a nice deck to relax on and people-watch. I would highly recommend Grace to anyone and would definitely use her again!

I have no breed preference. Before sitting, I would like to have an understanding of their physical capability (ie. the duration and speed of a typical walk). I would also like to know if they have any history of hostility (around adults, children, other dogs specifically) and how they typically react in a new environment.
A typical day
We will go on walks in Colonial Williamsburg as well as the parks and trails surrounding New Town/Williamsburg. I am a student-athlete, so active dogs can expect to go at a good pace!
