A dog must be treated respectfully. All dogs will communicate what they need. Each dog is unique as humans are. Age is also important because their needs vary from age to age. Finally, I believe structure play is important. A dog that is not bored is healthy and can provide love to all the members of the family. A dog always a happy environment in a household.
