Pet care experience
I’ve been involved with pet therapy organizations over 13 years with dogs of my own as well as being an evaluator for pet therapy dogs to assess candidates for temperament. I have owned several different breeds of dogs since I was a child. I’m a volunteer at the local dog park.

It’s important to know the dog’s schedule and their general temperament, if the dog enjoys being around other dogs or just interested in solitary walking. It is important to know if the dog requires any medication and their food schedule and specific rules about treats.
A typical day
I live in a beach community where dogs are permitted to walk on the beach so if the owners were agreeable to allowing their pets to walk on the beach, it’s always fun to meet other dogs or just enjoy the beach. There’s lots of parks where I live as well. I am a member of the dog park as well if the prospective dog owner is as well.

I am retiring from a corporate job at the end of November and I will have a flexible schedule which will allow me to have the time and opportunities to participate in pet care.
