I was born on a farm, and through my childhood I cared for pigs, ducks, water buffalo, chickens, goats, cats, and of course, dogs! I’m a lover of all animals and I feel very lucky that I’ve always had a dog in my life. RIght now, we have a Chihuahua in my household and am looking for additional furry friends to keep us busy. Until recently, my little pup lived with a Rottweiler for seven years, so small and large breeds are just fine. I’ve also fostered a dog in the past, so again, I’m really looking forward to enriching my life with the love and energy of another dog. To say I’m an avid outdoorsman would be a bit of an understatement. I like to stay fit and get as much fresh air as possible. Typically I walk/run between 5-10 miles a day, both morning and night. My routine just happens to be perfect for having a furry, four-legged sidekick along for the ride. If your pup is not physically up for such brisk activity, I also enjoy relaxing after intense exercise, so I’d be happy to toss around some toys in the yard or snuggle up on the couch to watch a little TV. I’m a good reader of people and dogs, so I’ll always adapt my attention and care depending on your pup’s disposition and needs. I make sure to stop multiple times to hydrate and keep track of our pulse and pacing throughout the run or hike. And don’t worry, if your pup gets overheated or sweaty, I also enjoy giving them baths or a quick hose to cool us down. My background is in applied behavioral analysis, so I understand the importance of routine while balancing calmness with an assertive demeanor. Dogs are pack animals and need to feel safe and part of a team. I will offer consistent care and maybe your pup will come home with a new trick or two under his or her belt. I’m very easygoing guy who happens to be super organized and task-oriented. You will never have to worry about a thing while your beloved pet is under my watchful eye. Under my care, your dog will be treated as if they were mine, and I will do everything I can to ensure your dog’s safety, happiness, and general well-being.
