As one who has loved animals all her life, one of Gia’s earliest memories, as a kid growing up in Las Vegas, was wanting to be a doctor for animals just like her Mom is for people. This childhood dream led Gia to first volunteer at Boca Park Animal Hospital five years ago as a teenager and to ultimately, later, work there managing their Doggie Day Care Center while in college. Among her many pet memories are the tiny newborn poodles she nursed when she was 12 and her fluffy small poodle named Mia, who is now partially blind. Yet there is more, like the family cat named Michael, a turtle named Titanic, several cockatiel birds, some goldfish and two Yorkies. Now that Gia has settled in her new apartment, she can’t wait to get home every day to be with her newborn bulldog named Ada or to do dog walking for Rover. In Gia’s non “four-legged” family life, she is the youngest of 5 kids. Her Mom, Rachel M., is in NY, on the faculty of Columbia, and her Dad, Al M., is a former executive who is now a consultant here in Las Vegas. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, yoga, working out, painting, cooking, the beach, national parks, music, trying new things and meeting new people. A lover of travel she’s been to Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Canada and 27 of the 50 States. Next on her wish list is a father/daughter adventure to Alaska.
