I have grown up rescuing dogs and cats, caring for neighbor's pets, and enjoy teaching dogs all sorts of tricks. I have been able to teach dogs with PTSD and high aggression how to do basic agility and keep them calm, manage various diets, and all round care for rambunctious puppies to well aged pooches that need some cuddles and food. I know how to give vaccinations, oral medication, and can be creative if your pup is a picky eater to get them to take their medicine. As an addition, I usually bring my boyfriend along for walks for security and he also would appreciate being allowed to check in on me while house sitting. He is completely willing to meet with anyone and loves dogs almost as much as I do. I am a full time vet assistant and am currently in vet tech school and have a B.S. in Animal Sciences from U of I.

I had Geraldine watching my cats while on vacation. She did not follow my instructions about litter, only cleaned the boxes 3x despite doing 6 drop in visits and disposed of waste in my kitchen trash can instead of the outside trash can which I specifically told her where it was. But the worst part was when I finally arrived home, she had not checked the pets water. The two cats upstairs had two water bowls, one was empty, however, the two cats downstairs had one water fountain which was so low it was not running any water. They had forced their way out a blocked doggie door the day before I arrived home and I now suspect it was because their water was empty which left them without water for at least 1-2 days. They drank water for 5 minutes right after I refilled their bowls and continuously did this through the night. Please be aware for your own pet's safety.
Geraldine went above and beyond to help watch our 2 dogs while we were out of town for the day. She worked around a packed work and school schedule, came over early, stayed late and Merlin and Ava loved her. Thank you, Geraldine!
As always, Geraldine is a dependable and caring sitter, and Leia loves her.

Before sitting a dog I would like to know what their specific needs are, if any. If they suffer from PTSD and react badly to hats or large coats I would like to know so I can avoid making them unhappy upon our first meeting. Specific behavior issues, such as nipping or gnawing on shoes would be preferred so I know what to expect when I come see them. Basically a quick description of your four legged family member and if they have any issues with new people in the family space.
A typical day
I will look for parks, if that is okay with the owner. I also love to play with any animal that is up for it. If there are any issues or training you want me to work with them on, I am happy to do so as well. Just let me know!

Availability
I currently work 9-5 M-F, but can take care of your babies before/after those times and on weekends as well as stay over night depending on other pet sitting jobs I am working on and off Rover. 😁 Just be honest with what you need. If you live outside of Champaign/Urbana please be advised of additional charges due to wear/tear on my car.
