Cat and dog enthusiast

Pet care experience

Currently the dad to two kitties. I've had cats and dogs since I was a kid, and I've pet sat many times since then. I've also owned rats at different times in my life. I have cared for elderly cats before. I've also babysat my infant niece, which is easier and harder in some ways than pet sitting!

George is an incredible cat dad. He is very aware of their needs and priorities his pets in his life. He has had cats, rats, dogs, and fish. George is a very responsible person who would love and care for any pet!

Being a long time pet owner, I can read an animal's comfort level with me. I love to play and pet animals who are asking for it, but won't push a shy boy or girl past their comfort zone. When boarding/daycare, I have a fenced in backyard for dogs to explore freely. I have two indoor-only cats who can sometimes get very scared of other animals; when indoors, my cats and boarded pets will be separated unless it's been established that they get along.

Information George H. would like to know about your pet

Update: From now on, I am no longer accepting overnight pet boarding, and only doing doggie day care on weekdays during business hours (roughly). This is because the stress of new animals has been causing one of my cat's medical conditions to flare up - I can still keep a dog or two in my office while I work from home, but I must be very careful to keep the animals separated at all times, and this is not something I can sustain 24/7. FOR NEW DOG BOARDING CLIENTS: I will only accept new overnight clients that are crate-trained, and dogs will be kept in a crate overnight while sleeping. A large dog crate can be provided. Before having multiple-night boardings, I would strongly prefer to have a meetup and/or daycare first, to determine dogs' comfort levels with my cats. A short or informal boarding could be arranged at a discount for this purpose. I will not board a dog for more than a couple days if they cannot remain calm around my cats. Boarded dogs can be kept in a separate room from my cats (my home office, with my supervision), but this is a tedious arrangement for more than a few days if the dog is not socialized with cats. FOR NEW CAT BOARDING CLIENTS: Before boarding your cat for more than a couple days, I would strongly prefer to have a meetup and/or shorter boarding first, to determine cats' comfort levels with my cats. A short or informal boarding could be arranged at a discount for this purpose. I will not board a cat for more than a couple days if they cannot remain calm around my cats. Boarded cats can be kept in a separate room from my cats (my home office, with my supervision), but this is a tedious arrangement for more than a few days if the cat doesn't get along with my cats.

A typical day

I work from home, so I have opportunity to let dogs out in my fenced backyard at minimum every two hours, as well as time to take 1-3 20-30 minute walks throughout the day. Boarded animals will be stay in my home office with me while I work, until a relationship is established and they prove to be comfortable with my own cats. After such time, they may have some more freedom to roam the house / more rooms. Please see additional information for details about new boardings - I will not take on new clients without a meetup or trial stay first.
