I love animals and have experience with everything from small animals, to cats and dogs, to horses. Growing up, I had a dog...and rabbits, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, and mice. I currently have three cats and a rescue pitty mix. Not only have I volunteered in animal shelters in the US, but I have worked extensively with dogs in Guatemala. I worked as a veterinary assistant in a shelter there, where I was responsible for hundreds of animals, and administering medications, vaccinations, and helping to spot problems before they got out of hand. I also worked on opening another dog rescue in Guatemala, and raised a litter of nine puppies, as well several other very sick puppies, who are now healthy and strong. Now, I spend a lot of my free time bottle raising orphaned kittens. I often pull them from the shelter at just a day or two old, and at that age they require round-the-clock care, and often have medical issues as well. This is not only very rewarding, but has taught me a ton about animal care! Because of my background, I'm comfortable with animals of all sizes, ages, and levels of training (I spent quite a lot of time working with street dogs!). I know what signs of health to look for in an animal, and I pick up on issues very quickly. Let me help you take care of your furry loved ones!
