Pet care experience
I am retired Army Command Sergeant Major. My favorite dog bread is a non-pedigree rescue dog chocolate lab mix. I love their sweetness and disposition. I have always used Rover when I go on a vacation where I can't take my Mocha. Your furry child will be treated as a family member. I will give your pet, the same love and affection I expect and have received from my Rover Hosts when I'm away. Your pet will get at least three walks per day, two of them will be on the in woods and ponds near my home in National Village, Opelika. If your dog chooses to go swimming while at one the five ponds, he/she will be rinsed off and towel dried. Your dog will never be off leash when outside. My home is in the Cottages section of National Villege, Opelika. A meet and greet is requested before any new client stay is booked.

Gary and his wife were delightful and Laika seemed to like them - she even ran over to get pets before she left. They were easy to work with and live in a great environment with nearby walking trails to allow for exciting walks.
Jaxson is so happy with Gary - which this makes us very happy. Jaxson comes home brushed and clean and tired! We enjoy the updates we receive while we are away and were even pleasantly surprised to have new bags in our bag dispenser (sorry, will add an extra roll to Jaxson's overnight bag). So happy with Gary and the care and love he gives Jax.
This is the first time Jaxson has come home from a boarder all brushed and looking so good! Gary sent photos and updates throughout Jaxson’s stay. We were very pleased and have already booked him for a future stay.
Pepper had a wonderful stay with Gary. He took such good care of our fur baby and shared pictures daily.

My yard has an invisible fence around its perimeter. On stays longer than four days, I will train him/her about the fence by using an electric fence collar, and the training materials from Invisible Fence in Montgomery. Your buddy will always be on leash until I know that he/she respects the limits of the fence. Then, while still closely supervised, I may let your pup wander off leash. On shorter stays, your boy or girl will always on leash when out doors

We walk the trails, woods, and ponds in National Village, Opelika. There will be 3 walks, the first around 7:30 a.m., the second around 2 p.m, and the third, around 7:30 p.m. I would like to know it your dog requires a special diet or medications. I would prefer to sit dogs that weigh less than 30 pounds, as they are more compatible with me.
A typical day
Your dog will take 3 walks per day normally in the morning During the hot summer months we walk in shady areas and I bring water for the dogs.

Availability
I am fully retired, though in my senior year's, I can devote time to exercise by taking three long walks with your fur baby. I vary walks between walking on the trails, walking in the woods, and walking around one of the ponds.
