Compassionate lover of dogs.

I have been a owner and lover of dogs since I was a child. I have been a sitter of dogs for friends and family for many years. I understand how to scale up and down the level of activity to provide a happy/ content balance of energy for your fur baby. My schedule is currently open, and I am currently available full time. I will be a part time student in the fall and ...

What Gary would like to know about your dog

I accept all breeds. I do like to know beforehand if there are any behavioral issues. Most are due to the presence of stress and are mitigated with establishing trust, if the issues are more than that I will need to know the triggers and the methods of amelioration. In the case of violent behavior I usually choose not to sit the pet.

When Gary watches your pet

I am different than some other dog sitters because I understand that every dog is different and unique and yet all dogs want to experience their lives as significant and want to be respected. I understand this and always show proper respect, appreciation and understanding to them. When I am with your dog, it is one on one, I have come to your home for the sole purpose of attending to their needs and wants.
Part of my ability in showing understanding with dogs is to be able to intuit what mood the dog is in and adjust my energy to them. Some dogs want to play, some want to walk, some just want another person in the room and to be left alone, and at other times they want to do other things, it is all very individual to the dog and the kind of day they are having, this needs to be respected and adjusted to. When we go on walks we do things together, we like to explore bushes, go to nearby parks, stand in the sun, play ball, fetch sticks, smell different things, every day is a new day on the block.
