Hello! Though only been with Rover.com for three years, I have been dog sitting around my neighborhood for a decade. With my experience dog/house sitting, I feel confident in caring for dogs of all breeds, ages, and sizes. I've always been a dog lover, have had three dogs growing up, and truly enjoy the company of these furry friends. I am very active and love playing with dogs-- whether it be a frisbee in the park, a simple walk through the neighborhood...or just hanging around on the couch! Having had three dogs myself, two of which were puppies when we got them, and having dog-watched dozens of different kinds of dogs over the years, I am used to any kind/age of dog. Whether he/she is a young, rambunctious pup or an old, pampered pooch I know how to deal with them. I am very active and responsible, and will be there to let out your dog on time, and clean up after them if they make a mess anywhere. Why I love dog sitting I was born with my parents already having a dog--a stray border-collie mutt, Annie, they had found during a storm. When I was about five years old, my aunt's yellow lab gave birth to a litter of golden labs and we couldn't help but pick out one of those, and named her Phoebe. Annie passed relatively soon after, but Phoebe remained my best friend until after graduating high school when she was a 14 year old, white nosed, old lady. Was a very sad time, as any former dog owner knows, but we recently got a chocolate lab/pointer puppy this year and she couldn't be a better addition to our family. My experience administering medication I'm comfortable administering pills in food, flea medicine, etc. I can't say I've ever given a dog a shot or anything like that, but I'm willing to learn if it's something that needs to be done.
