My love for dogs makes taking care of them a pleasure, not a chore. Growing up, our household was never without at least 1-2 dogs. I grew up with small to large dogs of multiple breeds; I loved them all! About 3 years ago, my husband and I adopted our beloved little rescue , Luis. He was rescued from an abusive puppy mill . He came to us with a broken jaw and terrible anxiety. We loved (and continue to love) him back to health. Watching him break out of pain and fear to a place of joy is a gift that keeps on giving! Additionally, my husband and I volunteer at a local dog shelter where we walk and play with dogs in need of human interaction/affection. I have so much more love in my heart to give to as many dogs as I can, hence, my decision to become a dog caretaker! I am also an experienced babysitter and quite frankly, dogs are like children to me! I believe that dogs should be entertained and remain as active as they can (especially the youngins!). Being a rather physical person, I enjoy taking dogs on long walks at the nearby park, playing frisbee, sunbathing and giving hearty belly rubs. I've never met a dog that doesn't like a game of hide and seek! In case of emergency, I have reliable transportation to take dogs to the vet. I would be more than glad to give dogs medication on a schedule, if needed. As I am experienced in rehabilitating my own rescue dog, it is a guarantee that I will be patient and gentle with your fur baby. I will always have tasty dog treats available and will ensure that your pet stays hydrated and fed. We are quite relaxed when it comes to dogs being on the couch and in living areas. Our apartment is smaller but cozy. Also, our little Luis is super relaxed (he's an older guy) and won't bother your furry one. My heart, home and time is open to care for your small, medium or large dog!
