Pet care experience
Growing up we had many pets including dogs, cats and rabbits. From a young age I loved leading our dogs and caring for animals. I have a big heart and find such joy in connecting with animals. As a nature lover I am outside most days, i love long walks in all weathers and its always better with a dog by your side. This last year I have been house and dog sitting regularly and have loved every minute, it's given me experience with various breeds and behaviours and has developed skills in adapting to the needs of each dog. I am not in a position to have my own dog right now so having opportunities to walk and care for others dogs is filling me with such joy and love.

Gabrielle looked after my dog for 4 weeks whilst I was on holiday. We have a large teenage dog who’s reactive to life and Gabrielle handled her amazingly. It was so nice to be away and know that she is being loved and cared for just a a much as we would ourselves. Aura (our dog) has made a best friend for life. I couldn’t recommend her highly enough.

When doing overnight stays in others homes I find communication very important. I want to be cause the least disruption to the dogs rhythms and routines and try my best to keep the owners routines. Respecting personal commands, sleeping space and patterns, lead preferences. Knowing how the dog may react in certain situations is useful and I will adapt to what is needed of me.

A typical day
Of course I love long fun walks, running and playing at times. My favourite places are near Silbury Hill and the Pewsey Vale, beautiful vast views. I also love the woods and spend a lot of time in West Woods and Savernake. I really enjoy training and if there are things you are trying to learn with your dog I'm always up for trying too!

Availability
I work freelance so have periods of working away and then periods where I am totally availabile. It has worked perfect this last year with balancing both my freelance work and dog sitting. Update I now have a little baby whose just 3 months old, from April I will be able to house sit again but will have my little boy with me. We have a carrier so are able to keep walking on lovely muddy country walks, and he's already grown up around dogs. I'm already used to looking after my mum's and sisters dogs with him so by April I will feel ready to be available to look after your lovely fluffy friend too.
