24/7 Doggo Garden Oasis in Durham

Pet care experience

Greetings! Dogs are such sentient and loving beings, and I feel so lucky to walk the earth with them. I feel blessed to experience life on the "animal whisperer" end of the spectrum and have cared for, fostered, adopted, volunteered, and worked with animals (mostly cats & dogs) my entire life. In high school I volunteered with CarMah (The Cat Rescue of Marlborough and Hudson) and in college I fostered cats through the ASPCA in Jamaica Plain, Boston. When I moved to Durham I fostered cats and dogs for IAR & volunteered at veterinarian check-ups (administering medications, nail trims, medical grooming), home visits, and behavior assessments. I have also fostered for the Triangle Greyhound Society in the Triangle. Naturally, word spreads, and I became a private sitter for several regular canine clients in the area. I then decided to expand services into the greater community. I am certified in Reiki III and regularly practice energy work both on humans and animals. I would not do so on any canine clients without being asked to in advance or with oral or written consent on a need-be basis. My home is a relaxing space of peaceful energy that dogs seem to integrate into quickly & happily, so they can enjoy a "staycation" and live their best lives during their stay.

Our pups, Jill and Annie, always thoroughly enjoy their stay. And I always enjoy all the pics that I get while they're there!! I would recommend Gabrielle to anyone!

Gabi, and Choo and Crash, are amazing. I don’t think Cooper wanted to leave, and I have the feeling that he’d like to return now. As he is a very anxious dog I was nervous about the stay, but Gabi and her dogs welcomed him into the pack, took him for long walks, outside into the magical garden and to the dog park, bookended him during naps and cuddles, provided dog beds, pillows, blankets to rest and burrow. We received tons of photos and updates, starting from soon after I dropped him off. Thank you, Gabi, Crash and Choo, for providing a home away from home for Cooper.

Gabrielle was amazing! Our middle-aged, medicated dog was treated like a queen at her place. It was such a relief to know she was in good, caring hands while we were out of town. And she received a warm welcome from Gabrielle's dogs too!

Gabrielle watches our dog Tilly at least once a month because she is too anxious to stay at a boarding facility. Every time we drive up to her house, Tilly gets so excited and can’t wait to hang out with her favorite friends, Crash and Choo, and snuggle with Gabrielle. We get tons of pictures, videos, and updates. Gabrielle brings her to the dog park, on hikes, and several miles-long walks through town. We could not have dreamed for a more perfect person to take care of our girl! We are forever indebted to Gabrielle!

Safety, trust & environment

My husband and I have a fenced in yard lush with plants and raised garden beds in a quiet neighborhood close to downtown. There are plenty of plants and butterflies for dogs to sniff, patches of sunshine for sunning, enough space for little zoomies, and a great front porch for that 'Southern porch life'. We boast lots of Canna plants that our dogs love to explore and lay in for the shade for "imaginative adventure". There is a great green space across the street as well as quiet neighborhood routes for walkies (available with permission, or if appropriate for exercise). Our family can usually be found hiking in Durham County or at the Piney Woods dog park (available with permission, or if appropriate for exercise.) I do ask that walkies are only available if dogs are leash trained (no pulling, lunging, leash-reactive). This helps me keep your pup safe as well as maintain a sustainable staycation. My dog Choo Choo (fawn colored pibble mix) and Crash Davis (chocolate lab) are extremely accommodating and hospitable. They make friends easily and enjoy the pack life. Their friends range from sassy kittens, puppies & dachshunds to beefy big boys, Saint Bernard mixes, Greyhounds, couch potatoes, & senior gals. Crash and Choo are friendly, receptive and diplomatic to say the least. We look forward to welcoming your pup!
