As a child, in my household, we always had a dog, and later on I reached out to try other animals including fish, turtles, rats and mice. I have always been drawn to animals of all kinds. They bring joy to me. My first exposure to a dog was when I was in utero, with our family dog that I continued to have experiences with as a toddler. I don't remember her much due to my age, however, pictures help those memories become realized. After her, all of our dogs continued to be pretty decent sized. At least sixty pounds. The other two following her that were family dogs were Labradors. In general my thoughts about dogs are that I do not fear them. I try to comfort them in the best way I can if I sense that they are afraid. I know that every dog is unique,just like humans are, and it takes some time to learn them. I have the patience for that. I have volunteered for a couple of rescues previously and loved it. I spent many hours and days doing all sorts of things at these rescues with all sorts of dogs. I am an advocate for all dogs being treated fairly. Dogs in my opinion are just like family, and sometimes even better. =) I have watched friends dogs for them and of course my own. I have also cared for dogs in the shelter as I mentioned. Feeding, watering, cleaning, and anything else that was needed. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have.
