I’ve owned and cared for animals since I was a small child. We’ve had everything from parrots, chickens and fish to dogs cats and snakes. I regularly house sit and pet sit for friends and family. I also care for animals every day at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and Zoological Park and have cared for others at previous jobs, the May Wildlife Rehabilitation Center and the Avian Conservation Center: Center for Birds of Prey.

I am unable to host other’s animals in my own home due to being a renter, however in your home I will follow any and all rules set up for your pet’s safety / general house rules or any special requests. I understand your pet’s happiness, health, and safety is of the utmost concern when you are away from them and I strive to meet all their needs.

Things I’d love to know ahead of time would be any stressors (storms, loud noises, etc.) favorite toys or treats, favorite activities (swimming, hiking, tug of war, etc.) any medications, feeding schedules (and any resource guarding behaviors), physical mobility issues, allergies, comfort around other animals, comfort in the car if traveling to and from areas such as the dog park or if necessary the vet.
A typical day
I love being able to try and provide for a pets full body needs. When it comes to dogs they not only need physical activity but mental, so providing them with stimulation from going on walk or to a dog park are great for both of these as they’re able to run around but also to go on little sniffari’s and smell all sorts of new things which stimulates them mentally and can have a calming effect.

Availability
I am a zookeeper at the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and Zoological Park. My days run from 8-5 with an hour break for lunch in which I could run and let critters out. I work 5 days a week and have 2 day weekends. Outside of the general care and husbandry duties I fulfill daily I also have pets of my own.
