I have had dogs and other pets in my family since I was a young child and have owned and cared for my own dogs for eight years now. Currently, I have two rescues, a small 9 year-old chihuahua named Peanut and a 3.5 year-old Pitbull named Opie. Both of these little rascals live with me in La Honda, CA where a good hike, fresh air, and beach time is a must for us. I have experience caring for a range of dogs with a variety of temperaments, personalities, and activity levels. Most of this experience has been pet sitting for family members and friends, so Rover is a great opportunity for me to expand that base. I appreciate the time it gets to know a dog and their unique personality and I think it's key when interacting with and caring for any animal. With dogs, I am great with feeding time (including special diets such as raw, wheat/corn-free, plant-based), bathroom breaks, bath time, short/long walks and hikes, and playing games like tug, hide and seek, "find it", and fetch. I am set on any commands like sit, stay, down, paw/shake, and heel for your pet and am happy to work with them on any of these! Also, I have experience administering medications including ear drops, oral medications, and topical medications and in case of emergency, it's important to me to know the nearest emergency veterinary hospital nearby as well as have your veterinarian contact info on hand. A little about me: I was born and raised in the SF Bay Area, I'm an animal lover (of course), and enjoy outdoor wandering and exploring, reading, hiking, learning, and cooking. I am currently preparing to apply to graduate programs to get my second graduate degree and become a dietitian, so my schedule is somewhat flexible in between classes.
