I have had dogs in my life since I could walk. I’ve been raised with anything from the smallest chihuahua to the biggest great dane. I know when a dog is happy and I know when to take a step back. I think what sets me apart is the fact that I have known animals my whole life, and I appreciate them just for existing. Especially dogs, they have the biggest hearts. Don’t let me forget the cats though! Dealing with cats is a different world from dogs. They each have their own wants and needs; so one must always be aware of each one’s interests. I know a-lot about cats just as I do dogs and I don’t treat any of them differently. I care for each animal I encounter and even if that dog or cat might not agree with my greeting, I don’t see it as their fault because it’s not. A caregiver to an animal must be kind and understanding, which is exactly the person I am. I am also preparing to go to Texas Tech School of Veterinary Medicine, and I have my bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine. So therefore, I am skilled in both humans and in the near future animal fur babies. I realized that my passion for animals was unavoidable and I truly believe I can make a difference for them by being a doctor of veterinary medicine.
