Professional Animal Caregiver

Pet care experience

Dogs have been in my life since I was a child, I treat them like best friends that also need to be shown guidance and care in the human world we live in. I will treat your dog/s while in my care, as if they were my own constant responsibility. I will look for signs that they need to go out, want to play, or need to be mentally stimulated. I will listen for your preferences in regards to training commands, dietary restrictions or active training methods in place (i.e. crate or harness). I am honest and caring and will not mislead you, or mistreat your pets in any way. I will answer any questions or concerns you have before offering you my services. I am equipped to also offer you a variety of other services for your animals, such as a brush downs, a bath, nail clippings (most dogs) and incorporating training with your command preferences. I am a full time boarder that also operates his own organizational business from home, your animals will be in the very best hands when with me as I dedicate the time and effort it takes to care for multiple animals at any given time and ensure they are safe and happy while pursuing my work from home as an entrepreneur and writer. My prices reflect that while staying with me, your animals will receive at a minimum, three walks per day totaling on average about 2 hours per animal. This is total outside time including exercise. Most days I aim for four total outings, but sometimes this is not possible or unnecessary. Usual format is to take two dogs out for 30 minutes twice per day, and then each dog out for an hour as part of a group or solo depending on how I interpret the need. I track walks, meals, and medications (if applicable) using an Excel format for each dog I host or interact with which can be available for you anytime upon request. I am confident the needs of your animals will be well met in my care, leaving you to enjoy your vacations and trips worry free.

We hired Gabriel for a weekend while we were out of town. Gabriel was great with our dog and we really liked the fact that Gabriel had an awesome dog for Bubbles to model after (and play with)! Our dog can be a handful and Gabriel did an awesome job with him. We appreciated that he listened to our concerns and was very responsive whenever we reached out. He is also very knowledgeable regarding canine behavior and training, and also has a great demeanor, so that made us feel much more at ease. We will definitely be hiring Gabriel again in the future. We highly recommend him!

This was my first time using Rover and Gabriel was very professional and responsive. I definitely felt comfortable leaving my dog with him and greatly appreciated the updates and pictures he sent while I was away. Overall it was a great experience!

Gabriel was incredibly awesome watching our dog while my girlfriend and I went to Canada. You can trust him with your home as we did ours. In a timeframe of 24 -30 hours, he came to our house 6 times to walk and feed our dog. He also sent us pictures of our beloved dog Bleu to reassure us he was doing well and that Bleu was in good hands. I recommend Gabriel to anybody looking to house sit their dog!

Most if not all of my proceeds from Rover will go to covering the costs associated with my own animal Stella, she has had allergies for years and requires a medication regimen that is not exactly affordable. Excess funds will go into an account for future vet costs. I have no breed preferences, I will however always want to meet your animal and walk with them first, this must be at least one day prior to official boarding stays. I will probably always have at least one animal with me on Meet & Greats so please be aware of that, even though I will absolutely inform you of that in advance. I usually use at least my own animal for meet and greats as she is excellent in giving me a good first impression of another animal. All animals should be: Neutered or spayed (some exceptions may apply - i.e. dogs in advanced years or in reduced mobility state), current on all vaccinations, on regular flee medication (as well as being free of fleas or mites), and lastly they should posses official vaccination tags. If any of these criteria are a concern I will ask about them prior to the stay and we can discuss it at that time, however I am firm on these issues. They are important to me as an individual, a professional, a dog owner, and especially for the health and safety of my guests. Animals with (serious) aggression issues, signs of neglect or advanced behavioral issues, unfortunately do not fit with my boarding model. There are however reputable sitters available that are equipped for animals that require that level of specialized care. I am still happy to offer walks, drop ins, in house sitting and other services for animals that do have behavior issues, I just cant put them up as a boarder.

A typical day

We will be going on long and frequent walks, running if full of energy, rope play if allowed and safe to do so. Playing fetch on a long leash, maybe some Frisbee or whatever your friends like to do when outdoors. Most walks may occur in conjunction with my dog allowing for a good sense of domestication with an animal who is well trained and good with all breeds and sizes. My animal is a Great Pyrenees, historically well know for even temperaments and incorporating other animals into a herd like mentality, with a protective disposition towards those in the herd. I could not ask for a better animal to engage with your animal/s. I also like practicing obedience training and can incorporate it into walks and schedules if requested. I can provide some conditional grooming service as well they are listed in the next section.
