Pet care experience
I come from a family who loves cats. I have been assisting my family with cat care since I was old enough to shovel kibble into a bowl. My grandmother lives in a woody area in Kent and for a few years we managed the stray cats living under the house. Through this I have learned how to approach and care for difficult or shy cats. I have experience administering medications such as topical and oral flea treatment, ear thyroid medication, de-wormer, cosequin and insulin. I also have about 5-6 years experience caring for my own pet mice, rats, hermit crabs, chameleon and leopard gecko. Recently I took care of a friends special needs bearded dragon. I have been around dogs most of my life and have walked and taken care of dogs for about 3-4 years. I loved my previous job working for a pet store because everyday I got to meet new dogs or say hello to our daily doggy visitors.

Freyja was great and communicative and cared for our cat and home with particular attentiveness, despite less than ideal conditions and lots of needs on our part as well as our cat's (medication, etc.). She's incredibly responsible and a natural with cats.

When I care for a pet in a friend or clients home I make sure to follow the house rules, training regimen and schedule. I like to get to know the pet at whatever speed the animal is comfortable with making sure I don't cross any boundaries. I make sure that I clean up after the pet and myself, I like to follow the camping rule "leave no trace".
Information Freyja L. would like to know about your pet
I like to know if there are any dietary, medicine or other special needs of the dog. It's also good to know what it's favorite activities are or what naughty behaviors to look out for such as tugging or pulling on the leash.
A typical day
I like to take dogs on walks where there is little to no traffic with a stop at the dog park if the dog likes that. Otherwise I'll play with the dog at the house, maybe test it's brain with new games or training.

Availability
I have a full time job Monday through Friday so pet sitting is a supplemental income for me as Seattle is an expensive city. I am available to stay over at a clients home to take care of their pets or to drop by in the morning before work and afternoon post work. I do have a full household so I tend to take no more than 2-3 jobs a month.
