Your dog's new favorite place 2 go!

Pet care experience

I have 3 children who are grown and living on their own. People know me as an animal owner/lover/communicator since always. I've been an owner/breeder since '96 of Rhodesian Ridgebacks. While I gravitate to larger dogs, I love all breeds -mutts too. I'm who friends and family come to for advice and help with training issues etc, so I'm opening myself up to doing this beyond my circle of friends. I'm available to take your dog on hikes for fun and to train basics. I welcome puppies. My clients like: that I am with the dogs at all times; that I love them as my own including them in everything we do from gardening to cooking, to hiking and road trips; that I instill basic training - sit, stay, come, and leash walking; that the dogs have freedom to go in and outside throughout the day; that my yard is fully physically fenced for spacious off-leash fun; that I have a covered porch that I provide photos, videos and updates at least 3 times during the day and am easily reachable and respond to texts quickly; that I take them on fun outings; that I only take 4 or 5 dogs at a time; that their dogs show that they enjoy coming here; that I'm an enthusiastic photographer and provide plentiful photos; that I have training experience and dogs naturally trust me that I establish boundaries for their dogs; that I clean up poop when it happens throughout my yard. Why I love dog sitting I've gravitated to animals always. I have a fascination with other languages - I learned to speak Italian and French and I think being drawn to understanding animals is consistent with that fascination. I grew up next door to a dairy farm so had many animals around always: 10 cats, 2 dogs (a Lab, and a St. Bernard who then had pups), a horse, gerbils, a turtle, a chameleon...and next door there were 95 dairy cows and many barn cats. Meet my pets 1 Rhodesian Ridgeback female (90 lbs) DOB 5-25-14 1 Catahoula mix rescue; female puppy; spayed (45 lbs) DOB 1-25-15 I have a "dog car" a Suburban with the back seat removed and dog beds laid out. Dogs are always allowed to get wet or sandy on our outings with no priority about the vehicle getting dirty or messy. I have a car seat for dogs 18 lbs and under and encourage you to buy one if you've a small dog too. It's great because it securely lifts them up to be able to see out the window. About my yard I have front, back and side yards with cut lawn and ample room for them to run, chase and dash around. There is both shade and sun, and a covered wraparound porch. The property is physically fenced and there is a manually closing gate across the driveway. I keep a fenced area sectioned off to which the dogs have access at all times. I open that into the rest of the yard when I close the driveway gate making the full yard their enclosure. I have a separate building in back that the dogs enjoy running around and weaving through the trees playing chase. There is a small wooded area where they can explore a bit too. In the summer I put out a baby pool and fill it with the hose for some water fun. In the winter snow, I dig trenches through the yard giving them a maze of dashing, chasing fun (and me a workout). I pick up poops when they happen. I do not work outside of my home, so I am with your pets myself, or Charlie is here. They are always in the company of both of us, or at least one. I can come to your home in scheduled visits to feed, or walk, or let out your pets. The bulk of my business is boarding at my home, so my availability to come to your home is second to that priority which is why we must schedule it in advance.

Francesca and her dog oasis was fantastic! Our pup Brix was instantly comfortable with her and her dogs Boo and Georgia, and she’s often shy with new people. Came home happy, calm, and tired(!) Not nervous or clingy at all. Clearly had a positive experience! Francesca did a thorough meet and greet, asked lots of questions, and built a profile to make sure she’d be a good fit for Brix up front which we really appreciated. Lots of room to get in some good exercise in her yard, a big comfy area with lots of dog beds, and the best pictures and videos ever! Definitely recommend. THANK YOU!

I have a fully fenced in yard. I have a screen door they can let themselves through when warm or one of us opens it when cold. I have a toddler pool I fill with water in hot summer months for fun water play. My property has both full sun and shade in many places. I also have a wrap around porch where they can lounge during rain with a roof over them. They sleep in the family room on the floor or in their crate in the eat in area of the kitchen. Bedtime is 10pm. Wake-up is 5am ish (not set in stone - but it’s early)

As suggested by Rover, I insist upon a meet and greet on neutral turf before you come to my home. My clients' dogs get along with others and enjoy our car outings. They come when called. Typically we get up around 5:30/6, go outside, are fed soon after, go back outside for "morning business" and a run/play-time out there. At that point we go for our daily outing in hopes of having the places we go to ourselves. When we come home, we have access to the yard, the porch, and the inside downstairs and beds for relax/rest time. They're fed supper around 4:30/5, continue to have access to outside until 9:30/10:30pm when we do a last outside visit making sure everyone has had a last pee before they go into their crates with a treat, or settle onto their beds for the night. I prefer non-barkers. I discourage barking when it is in play out of respect for my neighbors. (Barking at strangers driving in is not discouraged.) I correct jumping up and begging. I prefer not to take on barkers, escape artists, and random hole diggers. I have an inside and an outside "party basket" which holds a number of chew toys, balls, antlers, etc and are replenished with new frequently. If your dog tends to pull toys apart, please let me know so I can give them the sturdy toys or ones you bring for them. charges clarified: PUPPY=$95 ADULT=$80 SENIOR=$95 HOLIDAY -over a holiday is +$15 ALL MONDAY FEDERAL HOLIDAYS INCLUDE FRI, SAT, SUN BEFORE AND MOTHER’S DAY & FATHER’S DAY Adult dog: $80 daycare&overnight w/pickup before 10:30am Puppies and/or extra-care-necessary (often seniors): $95 daycare&overnight w/pickup before 10:30am what I need from you for your pet: Date of birth. A typical day

Often we have an outing planned - a hike up to "Lisa's Point" (Danbury) or if the tide will be low, to the beach - mostly these outings are at daybreak guaranteeing us the places to ourselves. At home, the dogs go in & out freely. They run and play outside until they're tired when they lie around in or outside the house, on the covered wrap-around porch, on the grass, or on the floor in the family room. (in winter in front of the hearth) Note that I remove collars in my yard when playing for safety reasons. I'm near Waveny Park where I can take your dog on leash. Often I take them into town to practice walking around other people/dogs. Your dog's sleeping arrangement In their crates or beds in the family room and off the family room downstairs. Those crated have access to their crates during the day, but typically they only go in them at night for sleep. There is room for your blankets or dogbed on the floor in the family room downstairs too. I have 2 raised cots upon which some like me to place their beds, or they sleep on them on the floor. I have the dogs feed always in the same place in the kitchen. They sit and wait while I prepare their dishes. (supperclub & breakfastclub photos are my signature) I have always had success with new dogs (and puppies) joining the pack to get the hang of this too. I also use a slowfeed bowl for my dogs who would gobble down their meals fast. I highly recommend them for others feeding kibble.
