I have been around animals all my life. I was raised with dogs, cats and horses of all shapes and sizes. All of my dogs and cats have been rescues, so I am well equipped to deal with special needs, including medication and behavior. Over the years, I have fostered a litter of six pit mix puppies, as well as nursed and adopted out over 150 neonatal kittens. I worked as a veterinary technician for five years, as well as a vet assistant at a feline spay & neuter clinic and a kennel technician for the ASPCA. My most recent job was managing a cat grooming salon and boarding facility. I have four dogs. Ivy, who is a great, laid-back sidekick, Juna, a bouncy, pampered chihuahua, Mr. Bingley, an oversized puppy at heart, and Titus, the baby of the family. Animals are my life, and I would love to welcome your bundle of fun into my home. Why I love dog sitting I have had dogs almost my whole life. My first dog was a Jack Russell Terrier named Emmie, who was full of energy and my best childhood friend. Growing up, my family and I welcomed into our home an abandoned, senior Golden Retriever who was found near the stable we kept our horses at. We named him Lucky and were blessed to have him as apart of our family for 8 months before he passed away. We decided after that to only rescue dogs, and over the years have had three Lab mixes, a Pit mix, a teacup Chihuahua, a Miniature Pinscher mix, a Golden Retriever, a Beagle mix, a Great Dane/Shepard mix, among others in our family. One of the Labs was the unfortunate result of being a bait dog in a fighting ring, and it took us two months of patience and love to simply get him off the couch without him fearing us. He ended up being the most loving, protective and sweetest dog I've ever had. I am fully prepared and experienced to handle dogs with special personalities. I've fostered litters of puppies, both independently and through shelters, so I am very comfortable caring for puppies as well. About my yard It's big and completely fenced in (8' fence). There is ample shade, astroturf and access to water and toys at all times. My experience administering medication With the number of dogs I have loved and housed in my life, I am very comfortable giving oral, topical, and injectable medication. I have had 4+ senior dogs who have had a plethora of medical issues in their old ages, some of which required daily pills.
