Every dog is my future best friend!

Pet care experience

Hello owners! [Disclaimer to all future clients: I DO know that my prices may be higher than many other sitters on Rover, and this is not an issue for me. The many choices you have (including price-range) as an owner are the blessing of this service! I take pride in my services, but take home less than 60% of my fees after Rover's claim (20%), taxes, and the insurance coverage I pay for through the service to protect your pet. Regardless of the fees I choose to maintain, I will always receive new requests from owners who's priority lie in their dog's custody. I will also maintain regular relationships/care schedules with repeat clients. Please don't sell yourself/your fur-friend short by overlooking serious sitters. Our purpose is to BE you while you're away! Rover is a big community with many able sitters who have ALL been through background checks. I still urge you to do your research and homework! Don't hesitate to choose someone you know will care for your pupper as you would.] I am 28 years old and was born and raised in DFW. I have an 8 year-old stinker of my own named Cohen, as well as a 16 year-old kitty, Cleo. I have been a huge animal lover and advocate my entire life, and there is nothing in life I enjoy more than being in their presence. I know it may sounds silly, but it's so very true! If you're on this app looking for a caretaker for your fur-child, I already know you are a good pet owner and probably understand. Since I could speak, I was set on becoming a veterinarian one day. My senior year of high school I was accepted into to Auburn University's pre-veterinarian program. I was ecstatic to follow my dreams. However, after shadowing a local vet that summer (bless them), it became quickly evident that I wasn't built with the emotional capacity and strength it takes to be around suffering animals on a regular basis. Veterinarians and vet assistsnts will always have my respect and admiration because of their dedication to helping our little ones at their very worst. Please know that my immediate career goals may have changed, but my passion and love for animals will never go away. When I first heard about Rover I immediately knew I should get on board. It was a calling! I am in love with the idea of helping other responsible pet owners, and providing the standard of care I would expect of my own dog's caretaker. I know first-hand the anxieties of leaving a furry family member in someone else's care, and am confident and happy with the skills I have to remove the stressful burden from others! I have always been drawn to animals, and have/will never pass up an opportunity to be around them! I have a hefty amount of volunteer experience at various animal shelters in DFW (more devastating than shadowing a veterinarian, but is so important/rewarding. I recommend you do the same!!), and have been watching others' dogs "on the side" since I was a teen. Rover has been my first experience with professional dog sitting, and I have loved but every moment of building my client relationships! Please let me love your babies! :):)

Sagan was extremely accommodating to Yuki, especially on such short notice! After dropping off our pup, me and my wife felt extremely comfortable, which immediately was a good sign. I would definitely book again with her.

Sagan is great. I got lots of updates. My dog loved it there. I will definitely be using her again. I know she gave him a lot of exercise because he was worn out on my drive home. I can't say enough good things.

Exceeds all Expectations. Animal lover extraordinaire. Committed and reliable. Sagen is highly attentive to both of my dogs, she ensures they are both cared for, walked and has even taken them to the dog park so they could run during the recent rain spell. Both of my dogs are happier since Sagen started walking them. She is trust worthy, responsible, responsive, flexible, and truly cares about the animals she works with. I could not be more satisfied with an animal care giver than I am with Sagen.

I am a long-time friend of Sagan's. She is the biggest "animal person" I know! She was with me, of course, the day I picked out my first husky Zoie in 2012. She has been my go-to sitter by default ever since. Saying Zoie and my other dog Angel love her would be a huge understatement! They pummel her with kisses for ten minutes when she gets to the door Friday, then cry and howl when she leaves Sunday. They love it when she brushes them, takes them for runs, and takes them to her huge back to play chase with her dog Cohen. She always takes pictures of my pups' adventures and sends them to me as well (I love this). I don't know if anyone else is interested in that, but I would tell her if you are! I have some great pics/videos of my dog to save forever. Sagan has the biggest heart when it comes to all animals, and I love the reassurance I get while I leave my pets with her. I travel a lot for work, and I couldn't imagine trying to find a new sitter (or someone else I could trust with my apartment, yikes). My dogs are my kids, and being away from them is hard enough without being preoccupied with how they're doing in the care of a stranger. When Sagan has them, it's great because I can focus on work without worrying about them constantly in the back of my mind. Plus she gives me cute picture updates! I would recommend her as a sitter 10/10. She is trustworthy, laid back, dependable, and TRULY has all animals' needs in mind at all times. I hope she doesn't get too busy on here, she was mine first!! ;)

Information Faye S. would like to know about your pet

Obviously disclosure of any medical issues/medication specifications is a must, as well as any specific emotional/behavioral "quirks"/issues. Knowing your rules/etiquette choices for your dog in advance is also crucial. Some examples: Is your dog playing me for a fool by laying on the couch like he owns it? Is he really allowed? Is your dog on a strict diet? Will he be sick if he eats a chip I dropped on the floor? Will I be potentially undermining important training by letting your dog lick my face? What is your personal safety protocol for transportation/car rides with your dog? Can big, goofy retriever be let off leash at the park and be trusted to return? Is he allowed to jump in the pond and swim? Should I bathe him? Is your dog allowed at the dog park? Is your dog allowed to approach strange children (always with supervision)? Can I carry little toy pup in my arms all day or does he need to learn to walk on a leash better and gain some independence? Etc, etc... Please tell me as much as you can about your little one! I would also love to know about your dog's personality, interests, likes, and dislikes. Do they enjoy fetch? Swimming? Is pup good on a leash? Does he like to be brushed? The end goal is for your pet to be as happy as possible while they're (obviously) missing you. I promise I am the next best option, but I love for owners to help me help them! Knowing as much as possible about your doggie will help me make that happen. All dogs of all sizes, pedigrees, and mutt backgrounds will be loved equally :):)

A typical day

All playtime/rubdown shenanigans apply! Obviously not every dog enjoys the same types of play/attention/affection. I think it's important to understand that when getting to know and caring for individual dogs. I feel that being naturally receptive to, as well as individually reactive to, dogs' emotional and physical needs makes me an excellent candidate as a sitter. I am an active person who loves hikes/walks/runs with my own dog. Don't get me wrong! He lives for naps, scratches, being the object of amorous gazes, massages, pets, and cuddles. But, alas! He is disinterested in fetch, most toys, balls, and even swimming! I would love to make up for the fun times I miss with my lazy boy with your dogs:). I do love caring for ALL dogs with all types of personalities and interests. Their quirks are what make them special, and I plan to engage your dog in the best way that fits them. I am more than willing to participate in any and all playtime/rubdown shenanigans as long as I'm informed and clear of your rules for your pup! (i.e.-PLEASE don't drop your 13 year-old dog off with a hip replacement and tell me later that I ran your dog to death!!!). Every pup is different and I like to know as much as I can about them before we spend time together :) Whatever your dog's "vibe", I am more than excited to make sure they are stimulated, exercised, loved, and happy!
