I grew up with German Shorthair Pointers and cats, have cared for puppies, kittens, and elderly dogs and cats. In high school and college I volunteered at the SPCA on Fillmore street in San Francisco socializing cats and walking dogs with all different backgrounds. I understand every dog is unique and some prefer people to other dogs, or vice-versa, and others won’t step outside if it is raining. I love helping dogs adjust to walking on the sidewalk, passing pedestrians and giving them ample space, and practicing sitting at corners. Of course, nothing beats a good romp in the nearest dog park and maybe some fetch. I'm not a walker who will tug your dog along to just “do their business”; I let them sniff the pee-stained light post!
