I’m like summer camp for your dog!
Pet care experience
First I’ll say that ever since I was a kid, I wanted to be a dog trainer. I grew up with three dogs that I cared for tirelessly, and saw the rewards of good training, plenty of exercise, and even more butt scritches. Now, I am a neuroscience major at Oberlin college, but due to COVID I am home with no classes for the next three months. This is it! This is my big break! (Except I have plenty of experience caring for dogs other than my own.) I have literally all day to: Take your dog to the dog park, or empty field to run around. Take long walks on a leash. I have experience and am comfortable with walking 4 large dogs at a time. Training- I am experienced with clicker training and other basic positive reinforcement training. Stay at or visit your home and be the magic dog fairy of your pets’ dreams.

When I need someone to look after my dog Lily, Evelyn is the first person I call. Lily absolutely loves Evelyn, and goes crazy with excitement when Evelyn comes to pick Lily up. It is clear that in addition to being very good with dogs, Evelyn is a dog lover down to the core. Lily is a Kerry Blue Terrier who doesn't always take well to strangers or other dogs. But Evelyn is patient and thoughtful, and I never worry that there will be any issues when Lily is with Evelyn. Evelyn is professional, reliable, flexible, a good communicator, and very easy to get in touch with. Would recommend.
Leaving your dog in Evelyn's care is the best decision you can do as a dog parent. The dog will have a good time (Evelyn is know for their walking, scratching, and training skills), but so will you. I've never met a more enthusiastic and humorous person, and it was a pleasure to hire her to care for my Sterling. Highly recommend!
Evelyn is a true dog-whisperer. She has owned three dogs in her life and currently has a wonderfully behaved dog named Mavis. She loves all dogs as though they were her own, and she is comfortable with most temperaments, breeds and levels of need. She sings to dogs, kisses them on the nose, scratches them behind their ears and pampers them with long walks, dog park visits, or lounges on the sofa. Her dog-training mentor is a professional dog trainer named Keri. Highly recommend!
Qualities I would look for in a dog walker - someone fun, reliable, down to earth, gentle, kind, no hesitation in talking to my dog like a baby, willing to take my dog on adventures like hikes or "sniffari" rather than a boring walk while on the phone. This person is EVELYN!!!

I love all dogs, and am fascinated by their different temperaments. I would love any information that you think would be relevant for me to know, especially: -medications/feeding schedules -bite history/behavioral issues -anxiety I have had 2 doodles, and am very familiar with their temperament. One bernadoodle and one labradoodle (he was 110 pounds-a horse dog!). I also had a street rescue mutt with some pretty feral tendencies, and cared for a shiba which seems like it should be its own species.
A typical day
I am new to Portland, and addicted to exploring. I’d take your dog to forest park for a fun excursion, or to Hollywood dog park, Mt Tabor, Grant park, or any other space that is pet safe and beautiful. (I know there are many that have yet to reveal themselves!)
