I've been involved with animals my entire life whether through zoology camps or running a personal dogwalking business for over 10 years in my hometown. During this time I acquired large amounts of experience with dogs of all sizes through walks, daycare, and overnight visits. I received a Bachelor of Science in Animal Behavior in 2015 after four years of sharpening my expertise in animal behavior and continuing to care for dogs in the university town whenever possible. My time as an undergraduate gave me not only theoretical knowledge, but practical experience conducting animal care and behavioral research at the university primate laboratory (which did not engage in medical research). The following year was spent living abroad at field sites in Indonesia and Ethiopia to continue research on primate behavior. Upon returning to the United States, I worked most of the year for a small dog-training company doing assessment of dog's behavior for the senior trainer as well as some training myself. During this time, I lived with a wonderful rescue pit bull terrier with whom I often conducted discipline training to work on her behavioral issues as well as continuing dog care work in my community. Now I find myself back in New York after completing a master's degree in biology in Belgium, and looking to get back to the pups!
