Pet care experience
A dog lover and owner my whole life, we are currently a dog loving family without a dog. My beloved boxer-pit mix passed away while I was pregnant with my first son, and I didn’t have the heart to adopt another dog after losing him. However, we live animals, and both of my boys adore dogs, so we thought it would be wonderful to take care of your pet instead of adopting another. I have a great deal of experience with dogs, growing up with dogs, taking care of dogs for friends and family from a young age, and in high school I trained dogs and showed my own dog, and took numerous obedience and training classes with her. We have a pet friendly home, with wood floors and a fully fenced back yard, with a sturdy, six-foot high wooden fence. When we pet sit, your dog will receive multiple walks per day, along with endless cuddles and love. We are an outdoorsy family, and will happily take your pup on daily runs and weekend hikes (if that’s an option for them). I am aware that some dogs have allergies, and we will work to accommodate any allergies, using only brands of food/treats that you specify and provide. We treat pets like family, and believe they deserve all the love and care in the world!

Eva was so great to our pup Dan! They were so easy to communicate with and took amazing care. We got daily updates about how he was doing and they were so accommodating to his personal needs. We could tell he was well loved by their entire family. Highly recommend!

We have a fully fenced backyard, so your dog can take multiple trips outside during the day, but would never be left outside without us at home and monitoring your dog. We have room for small to large sized crates and up to large sized dog beds. We will only use products that you have supplied or are approved of by you.

It's important that your pet is comfortable with children, as we have two young children. If your dog has a history of biting, jumping or chewing I will not be able to take care of them. I have experience with shy dogs that are not comfortable with children, and they are lovely animals, just not a good fit for our home at this time. We also have a small garden in our backyard, so if your dog has a history of digging we would not be a good fit for them. *We require a meet and greet with all new clients ahead of your dog’s first stay with us to ensure that we are a good fit for your dog.
A typical day
We live in a lovely neighborhood, with great sidewalks and parks. Your dog will have access to our backyard (while supervised), as well as enjoy multiple, daily walks in our neighborhood and to our local parks, as well as extra hiking adventures on weekends and school holidays (if you are comfortable with that option). Our family adores dogs and your pet would be the only pet in our home for the duration of its stay, so it will be spoiled with lots of love and attention.

Availability
I work part time at the local elementary school, so your dog will need to be ok with being left home alone for about 6 hours a day during the week. If your dog has trouble being left home alone for more than 6 hours, we would not be a good fit for your dog. However, your dog will receive a daily, lengthy morning walk, a short afternoon walk and a lengthy evening walk, as well as multiple trips into the backyard throughout the day. On weekends we often spend time hiking, taking longer walks or playing at lakes in the warmer weather, and would include your dog in these activities (if you are comfortable with that).
