Experienced Pet-Sitter with Dog Friendly Office
Pet care experience
I’ve been dogsitting professionally through Rover since 2022 but I’ve been a dog owner since we got our family dog when I was aged 11. In later years I was often tasked with dog-sitting whilst my parents travelled so coming to this app I was already experienced in being the sole carer for a pet and well aware of the level of effort required. Since our family pet died a couple of years ago I’ve been craving the company of a wee four legged friend to fill the dog shaped hole in my heart, however, know that I am not ready to make a full time commitment to owning my own pet just yet. I also have experience in sitting cats and kittens.
Reviews
Esther has looked after Alfie several times now. Communication with her has always been quick and clear. When we drop him off, Alfie rushes in through the front door without a glance over his shoulder. Esther’s clearly doing the right thing by him!
Esther did a great job at looking after Goose. She took on board all of our guidance and was able to give us a clear update on how his day had been when we picked him up. Also Goose was a big fan of Esther and didn't seem that keen on leaving at the end of the day! Esther was really confident handling Goose who is very tiny, and was familiar with the specific needs of a puppy so we definitely felt like he was in safe hands. Will definitely book with Esther again!
Mila has stayed with Esther twice now and each time has come back a very happy dog! Esther’s been lovely and was very kind when I was running a few minutes late.
Esther’s been a brilliant sitter for Alfie. He clearly likes her and I think the feeling is mutual! It been easy to organise Alfie’s stays - Esther is quick and efficient with all communications. Highly recommended!

Safety, trust & environment
I live alone in a pet free home currently. It can be a social household - I like to have friends over for dinner - your pet will certainly not starve for attention. For the most part, however, it is a calm and peaceful environment with plentiful soft furnishings for pets to choose to nap on. With Kelvingrove Park on my doorstep a nice walk is definitely on the menu as well.

Information Esther S. would like to know about your pet
Do let me know if there are any particular behaviours I should be aware of. I’ve looked after reactive dogs of varying degrees in the past so have experience there but it’s good to know in advance. It’s also important I know what their normal schedule is so I can stick to it and make your pet feel comfortable especially if it’s in a new environment. Written instructions when your pet is dropped off is very useful for me as I sit lots of different dogs and sometimes it can be tricky for me to remember everything after one meeting or conversation!
A typical day
A nice lengthy walk with lots of smells is standard. If your dog is comfortable in a cafe or pub environment I also like to occasionally take them on outings with friends. But best of all I always look forward to snuggling up on the sofa together in the evening to watch some telly and scratch their ears!

I work Mon-Friday for a small, close-knit company under a flexible working model. Typically I walk to work, around 30 minutes, 4 days a week to a dog friendly office in Glasgow City Centre, and work one day from home - however I can change which days and how many relatively easily, given notice. As dog owners themselves and also close friends of mine, taking your dog for short pee-breaks and walks during the working day as needed will be absolutely accepted by my colleagues. Should a quiet, dog friendly office environment be unsuitable for your dog, please do let me know and I can attempt to work around this. At home, I have a fenced garden downstairs and Kelvingrove Park on my doorstep for toilet breaks and lunchtime walks on days working from home. In the evenings and at weekends I like to take walks and spend time outdoors in the surrounding areas and would be free to spend time with any pet in my care. I also have access to a car so do let me know if your pet travels well and would enjoy a trip to the beach or a hike.
