Full Time Doggo Love (Kitties, Too)

Pet care experience

Please read my entire profile because I’ve included some hints in it that may help your dog! What separates me from the rest of the pack? Glad you asked! *I am a full time sitter which means your dog receives full time love & care. * I have over 3 decades of pet care experience. * I only sit dogs from one family at a time. * I never overbook. * Updates with photos throughout the stay. * 24/7 phone contact. Call me anytime for an update on your baby. * I have senior care as well as special needs care experience. * I accept Pibbles! I have had 3 Pit/Pit Mix rescues over the years. They are the sweetest, silliest, most misunderstood dogs in the canine kingdom. * Military, police, fire, and animal rescue worker discount. * New clients receive a complimentary “Welcome to Our Pack” pack. * I accept kitties and other animals as well. Contact me for more information! I always let someone outside my home know when I'm pet sitting just to give added peace of mind that your pet is completely safe and secure. My pet care experience ranges from chinchillas to cats, and from parrots to ponies and dogs, of course! I put my love into action as a volunteer pup foster, animal rescuer, trainer, and sitter. I keep your pup to a schedule that's as near to the one he or she is used to at home. If lounging on furniture is fine at your home, it's fine at mine. But if the sofa is a no-no at home, it's a no-no with me. If the bed is where you both head come sleepy time, I'll also share mine. If not, I keep cozy doggo beds of all sizes on hand. If you crate at night, so will I. If you take you pup to the park, so will I. If the park isn't your preference, let me know what is and we'll try our best to get there. I'll even raw feed your best friend if that's the way his tummy rolls. I have small to large size crates on hand so if you do crate, your dog is welcome to use what I have. If you don't crate, don't worry. Your dog will remain free range with me. I ask that, along with your dog's food, toys, treats, etc., you also pack an article of clothing--an old t-shirt or sock--you've recently worn. Dogs navigate their world primarily via sense of smell. Bringing along something with your scent on it is like bringing a bit of you into my house. This helps reassure your dog that while yes, I am a very nice lady, the person he REALLY loves is nearby and coming back soon. Let your dog come Sit & Stay With Esme! You'll both be glad you did!

This is our second time using Esme. She is wonderful and cares so much for Nala. We feel very comfortable leaving our girl in her care. It makes for a stress free time away. Thank you again

Esme was such a great sitter. Nala took to her and she was always very communicative. We would definitely use her again. We felt very comfortable leaving nala, which usually isnt the case.

For the last 2 years, we have left our dog, Mitch, with Esme when we are out of town. Mitch loves Esme. I don't think he misses us at all when he is with her!

For me, the most important part of your dog's stay happens before the stay at the optional, but highly encouraged, complimentary Meet & Greet. Dogs are unique individuals--that's why they capture our hearts. Your dog is not like any other and at our meet & greet I'll try to get a good feel for your dog's unique personality traits so I can give my best quality care. I will ask questions about his normal routine so I can mimic his or her schedule as closely as possible. This is also your opportunity to see where your dog will be so you're confident a qualified person is keeping your dog safe, happy, and most of all, loved. As promised here a few tips that may help your dog be happier & healthier. Does your dog go off his food when someone else cares for him? Try this: when feeding your dog at home invent a phrase to announce feeding time. I have clients who tell their dogs it’s time for a “good dinner.” Use whatever phrase you like but use it consistently over time. What does using a special phrase do for your dog? Well it acts like a secret code. You know how dogs will calm down when a stranger says their names? How they look at the person with their heads cocked as if to ask, “Hey! How do you know my name? Are we buddies?” Well, the dinner code word process produces the same result. When a caregiver knows the dinner words it makes your dog feel at home because something he associates with home is now happening in another place! Does your dog have thunder anxiety? It may not actually be the noise that is scaring your dog. Atmospheric changes can create conditions that increase static electricity. For some dogs static builds up in their coats producing a mild, but unpleasant and uncanny charge. It is the static charge that is actually frightening them. The thunder is simply the thing that announces that the charge is coming. If you notice your dog trying to get into tight spaces, especially a tile floor like in a bathroom, he may be trying to ground himself. Try this: place a rubber mat in the area where your dog goes during a storm. The mat will ground your dog and he’ll soon get over his fear! You can then move the mat to a “thunder safe zone” where your dog can go at the sound of the first boom. Want to switch your dog’s food but dread tummy upset? In addition to following directions for the food switch, try adding some canned pumpkin to your dog’s diet. Be sure to get ground pumpkin and not pumpkin pie mix. Pumpkin is a great remedy for both doggie diarrhea and constipation. Check back for more tips to help your dog lead a happier life!

A typical day

I like to find out what my client's dog and his human's preferences are. Some clients love to take their pups to the dog park. Others prefer other places for play. I have a fenced in yard, so we can play fetch and frisbee right outside my home. My client's preference is my preference.
