Pet care experience
I'm a responsible, athletic, and experienced dog-sitter. In addition to owning and being the primary caregiver for my family's 80+ pound shepherd/Husky mix as a teenager, I grew up pet-sitting the animals of my friends and neighbors and spent my college years volunteering at Quincy Animal Shelter, where I walked and cared for dogs of all breeds, sizes, and temperaments. I've dog and cat sat for a number of people around the Cambridge/Somerville area, and do it because I truly love animals. I unfortunately can't commit to owning a dog of my own right now, but I do have an adorable kitten at home. I have never met an animal I am uncomfortable with, and am very good at handling dogs. I have a lot of experience (with my family's dog, those of friends, and from volunteering) walking strong, high-energy dogs. For dog-sitting: My current full-time job allows me to work occasional part or full days remotely, though it's not something I like to make a habit of for more than a few days in a row every few weeks. So, if you're looking for longer-term (week-plus) care and would like a sitter that's home with your dog for most/all of the day during the week, I'm probably not the best fit. But for shorter stays, especially weekends and holidays (or longer-term if your dog is used to being home alone for much of the day), I'm happy to travel anywhere around Cambridge, Somerville, or the Watertown/Belmont/Arlington area (and will do Boston, too, for shorter stays). I just moved to East Arlington but work at Harvard, so around those areas are best for me if you're looking for weekday walks/drop-ins.
Reviews
Great sitter! Took excellent care of our pup (and home). Would absolutely book again!
Eryn is an absolute gem! We are so grateful to her kindness and care of our animals; especially our old lab. We will definitely be booking her again - and cannot recommend her enough.
Eryn took excellent care of my cat in drop-in visits while I was away. She was consistently professional and friendly, and was attentive to my cat's needs. My cat was clearly happy to have been looked after by her.
Glad to have booked Eryn for a second time. Thanks again!

Information Eryn C. would like to know about your pet
I am open to all breeds, ages, temperaments, etc.; however, I particularly love medium to larger breeds that are used to being active. In addition to the standard info about your pup—their daily routine, medications, temperaments, how they are with other people and other dogs, etc.—please let me know if your dog has any special needs or preferences. I do my best to make every dog as comfortable as possible when I am watching them! Note: I have experience administrating pet inhalers as well as oral medication.
A typical day
I love hiking with dogs in places like the Blue Hills, Middlesex Fells, and Noanet Peak. I have a car and often go up to do longer hikes in NH and would consider bringing well-trained, high energy dogs for longer (4+ hours) and more strenuous hikes if their owners are comfortable with it. If dogs are used to running and/or rollerblading, I love doing that as well! Of course, I love taking shorter and more regular walks in the neighborhood and local parks, and I'm very happy to play fetch or really anything else—including swimming!—with dogs, as well.
