Are you ready for the 4th of July?

Pet care experience

Every year the number of missing dogs increases by 30% on the 4th of July. Leave your precious and fearful pup with a professional clinical canine anxiety specialist and certified dog trainer this year and eliminate the worry if you’re leaving home to celebrate this year. Many dogs are sound phobic, generally nervous, or suffer from separation anxiety. This causes them to panic and thus lose the ability to think logically and make good choices because they fall into survival mode of fight or flight. We’ve seen dogs bust out of “indestructible” crates, break down doors, tear down walls, and launch out windows. Limited space available where you can drop your pup off for a night in the zen den. Your pup will stay indoors and be carefully monitored to ensure no holiday or environmental stressors cause distress. A sound controlled room with games, treats, therapeutic sound therapy and massage with calming music and direct interaction and supervision from a professional who deals with dogs like yours daily and knows how to make them feel safe with methods that are gentle and force free utilizing proprietary, hands on techniques to calm and soothe your anxious dog without the use of heavy handed or aversive training methods. For background, certification and testimonials visit pet parent life for verification. There is a reason my prices are higher than other sitters. You get what you pay for. They call me "Mary Puppins” I will take your kids on so many wonderful adventures, but I do not spoil. (The lie detector determined, that was a lie.) Ok- I don't spoil toooo much. (Lie) I do not mind any request when it comes to your pup. However ridiculous someone has told you it may be, it isn't. I will honor with pride & joy any special request for the prince or princess in your life. No request is too extreme. Seriuosly. 2019 CPDT-KA ~Member APDT ~Member IAABC ~Certified Canine Nutrition Advisor COE, UK Diploma Advanced Canine Nutrition Graduate 2019 with Distinction- JFFD Canine Nutrition Consultant Academy Graduate 2020 From play therapy to interactive decompression walks, Sniffaris, mental stimulation and enrichment, learning tricks to relaxing with binaural beats designed to promote anxiety reduction and cooling down with meditative calming stimuli, you can be rest assured your pampered pup will have their mental and physical needs met while in my care. Please see below for additional options and what information to be prepared with prior to requesting a booking. I offer play therapy with drop ins as well as interactive cognitive honing walk ‘n’ plays in addition to cognitively structured walks curated for problem walkers for an additional fee. If you are struggling with leash training, exasperated by reactivity or enhanced prey drive, can’t bear yet another trip to the chiropractor or wonder what it’s like to have full range of motion in both shoulders? I can help. Just mention it when booking and we can discuss in detail what your needs are during the meet and greet. Erin Elizabeth CPDT-KA 2018 APDT 2020 Professional Trainer and Behaviour Consultant Certification and Diploma from COE by the Welsh Assembly Government and HMQ 2017 **Dog Boarding is based on a cycle from the pick up or drop off time PER DAY. This means if you book 3 days and 2 nights the dog must be picked up or dropped of before 8am or after 6pm. If you need the daytime care on a pick up/drop off departure/return day, there will be a day care fee added to the booking. Additional specialised care will be charged as an adjustment rate: this includes medication administration, food preparation, or isolation anxiety dogs that cannot be left alone for any period of time and will require my presence and care 24 hours a day. In the event a dog become dangerous to themselves or others, the owner will be contacted for immediate pick up or alternate boarding accommodations at the owners expense. *Doggy Day Care is on a 8hr cycle. If a late drop off/pick up/addtl half day is needed or additional or specialised care (ie: food preparation, medication administration, bathing, pick up or drop off, if the pup is not housebroken, etc) is needed during booking there will be a small adjustment to the rate the latter also applies to overnight and the adjustment will be made prior to booking date/start time as long as the pet parent is completely transparent about the dogs habits and behaviour. (See above) I am a dog trainer so I make my own schedule. Many of my clients are done remotely, as I specialize in anxiety cases (separation anxiety, confinement anxiety, isolation anxiety, etc) My other clients consist mostly of engagement and etiquette and those are generally off site. However, if your pup is well socialised and I happen to have them as my guest, they will likely join us on an interactive group walk or outdoor engagement activities that stimulate canine cognition. I’m my house, the dogs rule. While I have certain boundaries and rules everyone must follow, they pretty much get my undivided attention whenever they ask for it. We have a garden out back with a little splash pool that is fenced in, and dogs are never let off leash in public with the exception of an enclosed dog park, and that is only with explicit permission from the pet parent. *PLEASE NOTE: I do not, and will not use any “tools” your dog may have been trained with, not even by request, under any circumstances. Whatever issue led to the use of such things, I assure you I am capable of handling without the use of the following: e-collars, remote collars, “stimulation” collars, vibration collars or any other electric shock or ultrasonic “training” collars (yes, all of the above deliver an electric shock) citronella collars, prong collars, choke chain collars, or any other device that is intended to cause fear, pain, or discomfort. I can assure you with ever fiber of my being- There is a better way.

Erin was great. She watched our dog on short notice. Was super polite and professional. She accommodated our schedule, sent us updates/pictures throughout the day, and Murphy was a happy contented dog when we picked her up.

Erin was the literal best, she provided plenty of updates and welcomed my picky dogs into her home with open arms. She hand crafted my dogs new fav toy and was very accommodating and flexible. 10/10 would recommend and will definitely be rebooking.

A typical day

Every dog is different, so I do my best to create an environment that is conducive to each dogs needs and most closely aligns with your dogs day to day routine. One thing I will not do is utilize aversive tools during your dogs stay. As a clinical canine anxiety specialist I can assure you there are suitable ways to deal with problem behaviors without the use of such tools. These tools have been largely heralded as detrimental and have been advised against by the American Society of Veterinary Behavior in their position statement on aversives for years now. I know why folks use them, there are few options when your dog is out of control and you feel hopeless and desperate to help them. However I can assure you I will not need them under any conditions or circumstances, and there is a better way. If you’d like more details please let me know and I’m happy to provide you resources and set up an assessment with potential solutions for you and your family.
