Pet care experience
I started walking dogs in my neighborhood at age 12. I've been pet/house sitting for 11 years. I have cared for a variety of animals including; dogs, cats, canaries, chickens, and horses. I always make sure that the needs of the pet are met and that they are given lots of love and attention. I have had pet sitting jobs with four dogs all in one home and I made sure each one of them received one on one time. I pay thorough attention to details to ensure the dog(s) receives the care they need. I have had to deal with a variety of situations while pet sitting including: -Bathing -Special dietary needs (more than a scoop of kibble, we are talking vegetable substitutes, canned food, vitamins, etc.) -Managing a dog in the "cone of shame" -Ointment application -Giving dogs pills -Watching senior dogs -Caring for pregnant dog/mom and puppies -Watching a seizure-prone dog I love dogs and I love spending time with dogs! I do not have any pets of my own, so I can guarantee that all of my energy will be focused on your pet.

Erin is the best dog sitter ever! We can count on Erin to provide loving care for our dogs, and she is totally responsible and reliable. She often sends pictures and reports of how things are going while we're away. We have two dogs and sometimes travel with friends who also have two dogs. Erin has on multiple occasions taken care of all fours dogs. She is great at managing a pack of four and the dogs all love her. One of our dogs is a real trouble-maker and I credit Erin with saving her life on at least two occasions. One time Stella bolted out the door when Erin opened it and in an instant she was gone. Erin drove around the neighborhood and enlisted her own friends to help find Stella, which she did. This has happened to me before and I know how hard that is because Stella will just run away when you get close to her. Another time Stella got into a bag of raisins and ate the whole thing. Erin discovered this quickly and knew that raisins can be lethal to dogs so she dropped everything (she was working from our home at the time--this was last year when everyone was working from home) and rushed Stella to the vet. Like I said, Stella is a trouble-maker, and I would trust Erin to respond appropriately and problem solve no matter what Stella throws her way. I highly recommend Erin for high quality care of your pups!
Simple said: Erin Wenk is the best pet sitter we have ever had. We live on 50 acres... and have way too many animals: horses, chickens, canaries, cats and dogs. Erin is not phased by anything... she has dealt with hen house attacks by coyotes and hawks, canary attacks by our kitties, early puppy deliveries by my springer spaniel. She can handle anything.... moreover, she keeps us posted as to how our menagerie is doing while we are away. Plus... it is clear that my Poopies get an enormous amount of attention while we are away. Erin stays in our home while we are gone... we come home to clean sheet... and a long note describing how all of our pets behaved while we have been away. Only sad thing to say... she has relocated to the Detroit area... lucky for anyone down there!
Erin took care of our 2 dogs and house sat for us many times. She is extremely reliable, and the dogs both love her. We were so sorry when she moved from our area, but our loss is someone else's gain!

I like to learn and talk through the pet's routine because I want to ensure some stability in a stressful time for a pet (their people being gone). Do they walk a certain route? When do they eat / take pills? Do they sleep with you or in a crate? My goal is to keep things as consistent as possible to minimize the stress on the pet and ultimately put the minds of the owners at ease.

Availability
I am working full-time, but I am available before and after work for walking. I also have a flexible schedule, so I can ensure that your dog is taken care of whether that is a midday walk or requesting to work out of the office that day to spend more time with them (I am only required to be in the office 2 days a week).
