I have also decided to continue working part time at my current job while I take on this new adventure. Unfortunately, this means I will be putting my in house dog sitting service on hold until further notice. This breaks my heart to announce as I’ve gotten very close with many of your fur babies and I know you rely on my care for them while you are away. But between working 2 jobs, I feel I won’t have the adequate time to care for them properly as they are used to. Thank you everyone for letting me love all of your pets over the last 2.5 years, it’s really has been one of the best experiences ever ? Please give your fur babies one last hug and kiss for me ? If you have any questions or concerns of course feel free to contact me!! Hi there! My name is Erin Vermeulen and I live in North Oshawa with my boyfriend Tyler and my kitties, Moo & Link. A few things to be aware of before booking: 1. I do work full time during the week, usually 8am-4pm Monday-Friday, but it does fluctuate. Pups will be left alone at my place or at yours for at least 8 hours per day during the week. Any walking services will be provided before or after I am finished work. 2. I do live in an apartment. We go outside every 3-4 hours when I am not at work. We are lucky enough to live across from a park, next to a field, in front of a walking trail, have a small fenced in yard for the tenants of the building, and by a large school yard - so we are not lacking in exercise/potty room. 3. Discounts are offered! Multi Dog Discount - you have more than one pup needing to be looked after. Extended Stay Discount - I usually offer a discount for stays longer than 1 week. Direct Payment Discount - If you prefer to pay me directly (cash/etransfer/cheque) instead of paying through the website. While frowned upon by Rover, some pet parents already have insurance for their pups and don't need the insurance Rover provides, or just don't want the insurance at all. I leave this totally up to you, in my almost 2 years of dog sitting, I have never had to use the insurance portion of this website. If you are interested in the option, please message me saying that you would "like to excercise the DPD option provided" and at that point I will provide my cell phone number for communication! Please read my whole description - it should answer most FAQ and explain how my business works :) Boarding & Daycare - I am able to look after a maximum of 2 pups at a time to be able to provide them with the best care. Pups have free roam of the apartment, unless they don't get along with our cats at which point we will separate the cats and keep them in our bedroom. They are welcome on all furniture and can sleep in bed with us if they would like. If you crate your pup(s), I ask that you bring the crate along! BUT, we do not like to start bad habits while pups are with us! If you prefer your pup do or not do certain things (getting on furniture, sitting before a meal) just let us know and we will enforce the same rules you apply at your house! We follow whatever feeding routine your pet is used too. Pups will be left alone for around 8 hours during the week while I am at work. If you feel your pup would be more comfortable being left alone during that time at your place, I have no problem dropping them off before work and picking them up afterwards at no extra charge. I find this best suits pups who are prone to separation anxiety. Living in an apartment building, I must be considerate of my neighbours and cannot have pups barking or scratching at the door while I am away. I am able to provide references for this arrangement if you have any questions you would like answered from someone who I have already provided this service for. During the weekends we are very active. We like to go to the dog park with our friends, either the off-leash dog park off of Harmony, or the fenced in dog park in Brooklin. I will always ask you if we may take your pup to the dog park, and based off of if you think they will be okay off leash with us determines which dog park we will go to. We also like to go for walks in the local conservation areas. "House sitting" - Unfortunately due to the busy nature of my life between working full time, having pups at my place, and cats and a boyfriend that can't survive with my presence, I am unable to do the traditional "House sitting" and do not stay at your house. Instead I am using that option as a bulk price for 3-4 check ups per day at your house. Each check in lasts 45-60 minutes and consists of a potty break, walk/outside play, cuddles, food & treats, and lots of love of course! Pups must be okay to go 8 hours without a break during the week while I am at work. Check Ins - Consist of the same offerings as "House Sitting", but the cost for a single check in is $20. Walking - I am also offering a walking service as well! The cost for one pup is $15 for half an hour, or $25 for an hour or a trip to the dog park. For two pups, a half hour walk is $25, or $35 for an hour or a trip to the dog park. These will take place before and/or after I am done work. All my life I have loved animals and knew I wanted to work with them, and coming from a large family mainly working in the medical field; I found my calling. I graduated from Seneca College of Applied Arts and Technology for the Veterinary Technician program in May of 2016. This means that I am the nurse for your pets at veterinary clinics! I am currently in the process of becoming a Registered Veterinary Technician. Although not currently working in clinic, I still do have a extra set of skills that can come in handy with caring for pets. Giving medications, whether they are oral, inject-able, or topical, is not a problem for me and I understand the importance of giving medications on time. I also can trim nails and give baths. I will never send your pup home dirty! I am comfortable with all breeds, sizes, and temperaments of animals. I will treat them as my own and make sure they are comfortable and happy at all times.
