Puppy Bed and Barkfest

Pet care experience

After protecting and serving my country for 11 years in the United States Army I am now here to serve and protect your furbaby while you are away. I have experience with many large and small breeds and absolutely love dogs. I live in a large, home with a huge 1/4 acre fenced in yard for your pup to play. The fence is a 6 foot professionally installed PVC fence to ensure the safest place for romping. I do have a toddler so I only host dogs who have experience with small children and who have zero history of any aggression what-so-ever. Buddy and Clyde love running their ‘Puppy Bed and Barkfest” and making new friends. They normally start stays with several hours of play followed but treats and then lounging on one of the many available fluffy squirrel watching areas located around the house. Although Buddy and Clydey love dogs of all shapes and sizes we do not host dogs under 30 pounds due to Clyde being almost 100 pounds of smushy love. Please ensure that you read the “details” section for additional requirements for a stay at the Puppy Inn of Westbury

Erin was great! I was nervous to leave Duffy. But Erin made me feel great about leaving him. She is very nice. Duffy loved her. He got along great with her dogs. She sent several pictures. I would highly recommend her. We will again.

Our pups always have so much fun with Erin and her family! I am never sure if they’re even happy to come home. I think they miss the dogs at Erin’s house.

Information Erin H. would like to know about your pet

Please read all of this before sending a request as these are non negotiable. There must be a scheduled meet and greet prior to staying. I do not host any pups without one. During the meet and greet I will ask you to leave for 10-15 minutes so that I can see how your pup responds without you present. We do not sit any pups under 30 pounds to ensure safety during rough play. The only exemption to this rule is if you are a two dog family and the other dog is a large breed. All dogs must be house broken unless they are under 1 year and still under going house training. Shots and medical information need to be up to date and produced at the time of the meet and greet. Pups that come to stay must be nondestructive i.e. Non chewer. The boys are not given any fluffy toys because of their sister. Rope and rubber toys are what we use. Dogs must be actively socialized (weekly visits to the dog park or puppy play dates, etc). I make no exceptions on this rule. 100% Absolutely zero aggressive behavior or history of aggressive behaviors with people, dogs, treats/ food, children or toys. We have a baby and I will request an emergency contact come to retrieve an animal if they act aggressively during the stay to ensure the safety of my child and pups. Must be trained and respond to basic commands in English: No, sit, potty, lay down, come etc. and respond to another person aside from their owner giving those commands. No chronic barking. Obviously dogs use their voices but once a command is given to hush a pup must adhere to that. Most parents will understand the need for this during nap time with a small child in the home. Must be crate trained or at least comfortable inside one for short periods of time as dogs are not permitted free reign while I am out of the house until a trust is built. Must have a high energy level with the ability for rough and tumble play. This also comes back to being socialized. Buddy and Clyde are very high energy rough and tumble adolescent dogs. They are great at reading other pups and understanding when to let them rest and when to engage. However they also need playmates who will understand when they need to rest as well.

A typical day

Buddy and Clyde are very active dogs. They have a huge yard to roam and romp. Buddy can normally be found sitting on the arm of Clydey’s favorite snuggle chair watching squirrels and dreaming of one day catching a tree rat. The boys are very active and their GPS collars show they normally run anywhere between 2-6 miles a day while playing. They also love getting loved on by their furless non puppy hooman sister. Buddy enjoys tug while Clydey loves to sing the song of the hound dog.
