I have a wide experience with different dogs and have the persistence and love to care for any breed, big or small, puppy or adult, any health or behavioral needs. I have been a Rover sitter since 2016, and have offered in-home dogsitting, dog boarding, and dog walking services. I have previous work experience at a doggy day care and also a local rescue. I have also fostered dogs which has given me additional experience with various breeds and medical needs. Besides dogs, I’ve also had Rover customers book me to sit cats, guinea pigs, and even bearded dragons and other lizards! I love taking photos of pets. You will receive beautiful photos of your pet while you’re away, guaranteed. I love taking dogs on long walks or hikes, and want to hear the best spots near you to take your pets while you're away! As a fellow pet owner, I understand the stress of wanting to provide perfect care, and the bit of guilt you can feel knowing your pet is home alone while you're at work or on a trip. I hope I can alleviate some of that stress or guilt by letting pet parents feel secure that their best friend is taken care of even while the pet parents are busy and away! My older dog Mac is reactive and has given me plenty of experience and know-how when it comes to walking a reactive dog, dog introductions, and utilizing positive-reinforcement and management techniques. We have taken reactivity classes at The Canine Coach as well as 1:1 training. My younger dog Roma passed all five levels of obedience training at Animal Humane Society, is an AKC Canine Good Citizen, and is in-training to be a therapy dog. We also stay active with agility, flyball, and other dog sport classes at Twin Cities Obedience Training Center, Animal Inn, and The Dog Tank. Pet Sitting in MY Home: LARGE, FENCED-IN YARD! Complete with doggy pool and tennis balls to spare! My own dogs, Mac and Roma, are great playmates but we do introductions very slowly to be safe, and play is constantly monitored for all dogs to ensure it remains appropriate and the dogs don’t get overstimulated. Dogs in our home will be fully integrated and able to play over time if desired. We never force interactions between the dogs, and I take reading and responding to dog body language seriously. Please let us know if your dog has issues with resource guarding, barrier frustration, or any other behavioral issues to keep any eye out for. We do not leave dogs unattended inside or outside in the yard. For overnight stays, we prefer dogs who are crate-trained. We crate our own dogs when we leave the house, as well as for naps. If your dog does not do well in a crate, please let me know and we can try to accommodate, such as setting up baby gates and doing extra puppy-proofing in our home. We also have a camera to monitor pets when we are out of the house.
