Home Full Time, Acres of fun!
Pet care experience
We have both owned dogs and other pets through the entire course of our lives, and are natural caretaker types. Situated on several acres of private property just three miles from downtown Chapel Hill, all those who visit us say our property is a tranquil retreat for humans and an absolute paradise for dogs! Our home includes large dog-friendly couches, constant access to a 5-gallon water dispenser, and plenty of indoor dog beds to choose from. Plus we have a large (1000+ sq. ft) securely-fenced area connected to the house outside with raised dog beds, grass and shade trees, as well as additional open area we frequent, which includes cut grass, ponds, creeks, and wooded walking trails. We have owned and trained many breeds over the years, and continuously share obedience training reinforcement duties. We have cared for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and dispositions. Two of our three dogs are littermate brothers who we’ve had since 10 weeks of age, and it was a unique challenge to train them simultaneously and separately, as to avoid any negative patterns of behavior associated with "littermate syndrome.” We are constantly reading and studying to stay abreast of dog health, behavior and training research. We both work from home, so are always around to keep the dogs company and we love to get outside regularly. We are very outgoing and active, and will make your beloved pup a part of our family, even if it’s just for the day.
Reviews
Erin and Evan, thank you for taking care of Scout! Previously, we so hated boarding Scout due to long hours of confinement and lack of exercise...especially the lack of exercise. So glad that we found you guys and that you provide the service and environment that you do. We are most appreciative! Deb and Bob
Erin and Evan watched our pup over Christmas. Though it was hard leaving her for the holidays it was so nice to know she was in such good hands. She got to run by the pond, sleep on the couch and play with the other dogs. We got updates daily with great photos. We are so thankful to have found Erin and Evan to watch Bailey.
Erin & Evan ate dog whispers! They are extremely communicative and have a beautiful property for the dogs to run around. Bailey didn’t want to leave!
We have a very exuberant 6 month old golden retriever puppy. Erin and Evan are great with him and even practiced some training exercises like recall. He loves visiting his friends, both human and dog, and comes back very tired from him romps around their huge property.

Please note—we require a meet and greet at our home with potential new clients to be completed at least 48 hours before desired dates of service. This helps ensure safety and peace of mind for dogs and humans on both sides. We will not accept requests made within 48 hours of desired drop-off. Please feel free to contact us with any questions! We are tidy, organized, and consistent with exercise, play, affection and training of our own dogs. Pups need love, routine, and play. We keep a tidy home that runs safely and efficiently for our family and our pack, and love including other dogs into our routine! We like to learn about new dogs and how they interact with people and other pets to assess how we can provide the best environment and experience for them. We like to meet owners to get a feel for their lifestyle and preferences, and those of their dogs. Having been on the other side of Rover when we needed care for our dogs, we know how much communication matters! We will do our very best to provide updates and photos during your dog’s stay with us, and we’ll give you a full report of how much fun and relaxation your dog got to enjoy with our family. *As of last fall our family includes a small human. Dogs must have NO known aggression with children or small creatures. We also very much appreciate sticking to agreed upon pickup/drop-off times or communication if plans change otherwise. Our daily routines now include navigating several additional moving parts, and ensuring the best possible experience for you and your dogs means we are waiting and prepared to greet you!
A typical day
Because we live in a large, wooded area, we go on multiple walks around our property, especially our ponds and beautiful green trails. Our home offers plenty of opportunities for running in the big yard, hiking through the trails in the woods, and swimming in the ponds if they like. Dogs can really be dogs here. We also have playtime breaks to drink water, cool off, and rest in the A/C (especially when it's hot out), so that your cherished fur-children go home happy, healthy, and likely a little bit tired! Our most favored hobbies are those we can share with our dogs, so we love hiking, boating, fishing, photography, gardening, and spending time outdoors in general. We are also huge movie fans and occasional sports watchers, so we enjoy spending nights in with home-cooked meals or some tasty takeout while sprawling out in front of the TV with our furry family and indulging in puppy snuggles. Warning--your dog may never want to leave!
