I care for your dog like my own!
Pet care experience
Hi there! I am an avid dog lover and professional. I have accumulated years of experience in various positions within pet care, including exposure to a kennel setting, walking, daycare play groups and animal rescue. Most recently I have spent the last several years working in a clinic setting. I am skilled in handling dogs with all kinds of behavioral problems, special needs dogs (my past dog was blind), and dogs who are under socialized and timid. While I am not certified, I have some experience training dogs in basic obedience commands, and I am happy to reinforce any training you are working on with your dog during our time together. I am able to give medications. I am here to put your pets first, and more than happy to accommodate them in any way that I can. My goal is to provide pet care in a way that enriches your pet’s life and eases your worries when you are away from home. I am pet first aid and CPR certified.
Reviews
I met Erin while volunteering with a local animal rescue where she is an employee. On numerous occasions over the past six months I have seen her interact with new rescues, 5 to over 100 pounds, who can be frightened and lack training, helping them to reach their goal of adoption into a forever home. Shortly after adopting my 90+ pound “puppy” I broke my foot and really needed someone to take him for an hour long walk once or twice a day. Erin took on this task and she has done an amazing job with my dog. She is continuing his much needed leash training and tires him out on a daily basis. He whines and looks for her when she leaves! Erin is prompt, compassionate and a true professional. She employs positive reinforcement training techniques with my big guy and I am so happy he is able to continue getting exercise and some fun training while I am off my feet. I had never used a dog walker before and consider myself lucky to have known Erin when I couldn’t give my new rescue what he needed. I will continue to rely on Erin for assistance after my foot heals. If you are looking for a reliable dog walker/caretaker with experience and compassion I highly recommend Erin.
About Erin B.
Skills
Safety, trust & environment
I have a spacious fenced yard (4 ft, chain link) and one high energy dog of my own. I'm comfortable crating either dog(s) to your preference. My dog is friendly, but because she is high energy she can intimidate dogs that are more shy.

Information Erin B. would like to know about your pet
Do they have any special needs or preferences? (medically, physically, behaviorally and otherwise) What would their owners honestly describe their personality like? What are some of their favorite things to do? Anything they dislike? Are they dog friendly? Are they stranger friendly? Are there any preferences for handling your pet that you would like me to accommodate? Such as avoiding other dogs/people on walks, reinforcing training, crating the pet before leaving your home?
A typical day
Here's where we'll take our walks- Around the neighborhood (your preferred route or one I choose) or a local park (on leash of course) if it is close to home. I can throw a toy for fetch, I can throw a Frisbee (if it's your dog's kind of thing) and I can make some great frozen treats to cool off in the summer time. If your dog is more of a couch potato, I always enjoy cuddling and petting older dogs or those who are more timid, helping them to establish security with meeting new people and learning to trust.

Availability
I work part time in the veterinary field so my pet care services revolve around my work schedule, which is consistent (Tues-Thurs, half days). Therefore, I'm able to offer pet care part time. I am a graduate student and am hoping to provide pet care on Rover more while completing my degree remotely.
