Pet care experience
Hey! My name's Erik and I've been around dogs all my life. I will treat your animal as if it were my own. Every animal deserves to be loved and treated with care and respect. I enjoy meeting new animals and discovering their individual personalities and needs. Pictures are of my Family's dogs. We have Cooper, a 6 year old American Pit Bull Terrier. He's an awesomely loving dog and puts all negative stereotypes about Pits to rest :) The Maltipoo's name is Molly. She's Cooper's boss ;) Cooper and Molly don't live in my house (they live with my parents) I have experience caring for Small animals too (mice, rats, hamsters, ferrets) as well as snakes (only experience is with a ball python) Our family also owned several cats when I was growing up so if your cat needs some play time while you're away I can handle that as well. Just an FYI to customers: I get off of work at 4pm but will be available for walking or check-ins around 4:15 to 4:30 and on. Thanks for looking. I am excited to start with Rover and hope to be a great sitter or walker for your pet :)

Before I take any dog for a walk or for an overnight stay I would like to speak with the owner about their dogs personality, especially when it comes to dealing with other animals and people. Of course I would also like to spend a little bit of time getting to know the dog as well. I have experience with dogs that are animal, people, and food aggressive and like to think I have a good feel for how a dog may react in a given situation. Although no one can predict how every interaction will go, dogs speak with their body language and their posturing, once you get a feel for what a dog is saying avoiding hazardous situations is very simple. For me, the best course of action is to always exercise caution and avoid potentially problematic situations before the occur. Please let me know about your animal's habits and preferences before we go for a walk or overnight stay.
A typical day
My house is located very close to Lake Murray (about a 10 minute walk away) I love taking my dog Cooper to the lake for walks and for socializing with people and other dogs. Along with Lake Murray, San Carlos is a great neighborhood for walking dogs. Mission Trails park is very close as well as Cowles Mountain. If you have a preference for your dog's walk just ask :)
