My name is Ericka and I have always had a passion for dogs, cats, and animals in general! I grew up having a number of different pets and farm animals including dogs, cats, hamsters, guinea pigs, fish, pigs, and even chickens. The energy, loyalty, and cuteness of dogs are unmatched! My family’s dogs definitely have a special place in my heart as we raised them since they were puppies. They were a big part of our family and they taught me many valuable lessons as a dog owner. My parents and I took turns feeding our dogs, giving them baths, and taking them out for walks, but we all gave them a lot of love all the time. My dogs were loving and caring and they brought happiness to everyone around them. I also have experience fostering puppies until we found the right families for them. I currently don’t have any dogs of my own as my current living situation is too small to accommodate a large dog. In the future, I plan on adopting a golden retriever when I am able to provide the space he/she deserves. I am a proud cat mom however (please don’t hate me lol) I adopted my cat Zeus back in July of last year from the San Diego Humane Society. Zeus caught the “common cold” from the shelter and I have administered antibiotics safely and correctly to fight his URI. Zeus was adopted as a chunky monkey, weighing in at 22 lbs. He is now 18 lbs. after strict diet changes and regular exercise and my goal is to have him drop down to 14 lbs. which is a healthy weight for him according to his veterinarian. I someday want to work with dogs, cats, and other animals and work for the County’s Department of Animal Services. I really feel a strong connection towards animals and I plan on working with them in my future career. Dogs and cats make this world a better place and radiate love and happiness. I want to give back the joy that pets give us by spending time with them through walks and playtime. I will take care of your dog/cat like he/she is my own and shower them with an endless amount of love.
