My mother worked for a dog rescue when I was in high school and I helped care for hundreds of dogs of all shapes and sizes for many years both in my own home and in other people's homes. I also worked at a pet supplies store for over four years, which included learning a great deal of knowledge about pet nutrition, safety, grooming, etc. along with spending most days a week interacting with dogs of all shapes and sizes. As a result, I generally have a pretty good sense for when a pet is uncomfortable or afraid and I've been in situations before where I was able to calm down an anxious pet and actually get them to like me by the end of it. I've also owned two different cats over the last 5 years, both with very different personalities and temperaments and while I have more experience with dogs, I definitely consider myself more of a cat person! I've been dog walking for over a year through Rover and have made some great relationships with dogs of all sizes, ages, and personalities!
